The worst introduction (Abby's P.O.V.)
My eyes have been closed for three hours. Yes, this means I've been awake the whole time. I had to refrain my pupils from popping out the first time the guy said we were sharing a room. As for the 'random girl' nickname, I may not be in favour of it but I guess I deserve it.
I have to admit, it's nice to sleep in a warm and cosy bed for a change. The curbs and rock ledges aren't soft on the back. As much as I want to laze in this soft heaven, that isn't an option for me. I got to leave so I can get to, well, I haven't really decided where to. What kind of a runaway am I? It's been a week and I don't even know where I'm heading. Pathetic.
If you're wondering why my name isn't being flashed all over the news, Tame Hood is a small town with shitty coverage and connections.
I grant my eyelids the freedom to open and end my temporary blindness. I did learn some things from it though. Your other senses become stronger and I really need a shower.
After a few seconds of blurred vision, I can finally survey the motel. I just want to delay the time my butt and this bed lose contact. Well, it's a typical motel. White walls, small TV, a couple of lights and two beds. The only thing that's unique about this room is there's a washing machine and a dryer. God how I love to wash my clothes.
I look right and I see a girl with bangs and guy with a mod haircut, lying on the other bed. I wonder if their related because of the fact that both of them having red hair. Either way, I'll probably never know.
In between their bed and mine, a teenage boy with short blond hair enjoys his slumber. He reminds of my younger sister Sierra, which warms my heart for a moment. Wonder what he's dreaming about. Now where's my stuff?
"So you finally decided to open your eyes." A familiar female voice teases. I almost jump out of the bed and nearly shriek. I look to my left and see a girl probably three years younger than me. She rubs her eyes and gives me a warm smile. "Sorry if I scared you. By the way good job at keeping your eyes shut the whole time." Wait, what?
"You mean you knew I was awake the whole time? But how?" I whisper in both curiosity and shock. She gives me a mischievous grin.
"Well, for starters, I told my brother you were dead was so he would come to help you. To answer your first question, yeah I knew. As for your second one, I used to be in the drama club so I can spot if someone is faking. By the way, the name's Jinx. What's yours?" God the guilt I feel for trying to run off without even leaving a 'thank you' note. And wow, this girl has a hell lot of wit.
"Abby, Abby Henderson." I return the smile and offer my hand which she gladly accepts and shakes it.
"I don't mean to be noisy Abby, but why were you in the middle of the forest?" I choke a bit. Can I really trust this girl so quickly?
"Oh I was adventuring in the forest and got tired. So I decided to camp there for the night." Sounds legit. Yet, I can tell that she's not completely convinced but she nods her head anyway.
"Let me introduce you to the gang." She exclaims with so much enthusiasm that a guy with jet black hair who doesn't bother to cover for his tan chest rises like a corpse. His faux hawk hair is in a mess, making him look more like a blood thirsty zombie. What is this? 'The Last of us'? Probably not, the game was way cooler and scarier at the same time. He raises his hand as if he's trying to wave at me, causing him to fall backwards slightly. I wonder if he's drunk.
"Hey, how ya doing?" He slurs. Should I feel intimidated? "I'm Raven because I like the dark. Oh yeah, and that's what my mum named me." Confusion takes over my facial muscles. I look at Jinx who is shaking her head.
