Hey, yeah, so much for that break. Well, I finally re-drafted the plan so it seems more logical. I forgot it was winter in the past chapters yet I said there was a sports event going on. Ok, so there's a problem with my logic.  Thk u for ur continous spt readers:) Well, anyway, here is chp 6.:D

Sleepy Head Youth (S.H.Y.)

Chapter 6: Truce  (Draven's P.O.V.)

I stare at this crazy girl who looks so calm when she's handling a gruesome looking abrasion. Now don't get me wrong, I feel for the dude but he's being a total dick. I know, the irony because I was being one too.

"Oww, your pressing too hard. Don't you know how to do anything right?" The guy who may be in his forties whines like a five year old.

"Sorry sir, I'll try to be more gentle." I hear Abby reassure him. I would love to give him a piece of my mind, especially about how one should treat volunteers, but that could jeopardize our jobs. Yet it doesn't change my opinion of him being a jerk. "Draven, get the note book and record our casualty's name, number and address. Thanks." She shouts while being engrossed in dressing his wound. I got to admit, I am impressed.

"Hi sir, what's your name?" I ask him in a causal tone.

"Esmond Dillans," the snob tells me while looking at me as if I were a scum on earth. Ha, more like Assmond.  After collecting the other details, and trust me it was a chore, Abby does her finale check on him and finally 'discharges' him. Raven is pretty bummed because he has the great honour of escorting this guy to the finish line.

"Ok, type of injury is an abrasion on the right knee cap." Abby informs me while she cleans up and washes her hand with normal saline (sterile water) and hand sanitizer. Damn, strawberry smells too sweet. Why do girls even like it?  I give Abby the notebook and she gives me a thumbs up to inform me that all the written details are a ok. I have to admit, she is kinda cute when she smile.

"By the way, I'm sorry about being an ass for the past few days. I'm just stressed out about some shit." I explain to her, looking her in the eye to make it clear I'm serious about the words I'm uttering. She grins and nods as if she gets it.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. Home was never home." Sadness lingers in her voice, making me want to punch myself for being so horrible to her.

"Look, I guess it's rude to ask why you ran away so I'm not gonna touch that subject. You see, my pals and sis left are town so we can get a better life and a new start. So that's why I've been a shit face to you so you would leave. Call me Scrooge but I'm just worried that we'll have to use the cash that my friends and I chipped in together for the house and Jinx's and Axel's education." I reveal. I can see her face turn pale almost immediately. I can't tell if she's hiding something or drowning in guilt.

"Dude, can I ask you for a favour." She slowly begins.

"What kind of favour?"

"The hell hole I ran from was called Tame Hood which has great schools and a reasonable demand for jobs, whether it's blue or white collar. I was wondering if you could escort me home because I don't know if I want to be out alone. If you do, maybe you guys could start your new life in Tame Hood. Since you guys aren't freaks, it should be fine. I don't mind helping you guys earning money by working my butt off. If you think I'm screwed and don't want to help me, I get it and won't blame you." My mouth hangs open in shock to hear Abby reveal some of her past to me. Does she even know what she just did. Either way, she makes a great proposal.

"I'll sleep on it. For now, you'll be with us." She smile and to my astonishment, graces me with a hug of appreciation.

"Thank you Draven." She says with so much joy.

"Welcome Abby." I squeak. Her hug may not be suffocating like Jinx's hugs, but it still makes me fight for air.

"Wow, you guys in a love and hate relationship?" Raven's cheeky voice interrupts this awkward scene.

"No, we were just having a truce. Truce?" I look at her as I say it. Her head bobs up then down.

"Truce."

"Aww, so now that you two don't hate each other, let's talk about that whining jackass."

"Raven." Abby scolds like the nice teachers in school.

"You're right. The damn annoying donkey." He justifies.

"Same thing dude." I inform him. Yet I should have known better, my best friend doesn't give a shit.

"Yeah whatever. I swear I need ten aspirins after handling him." Abby and I sit and listen to the adventures of Assmond and Raven. If he ever has kids, they are going to have the coolest father ever.

"Damn, I'm exhausted." Ace announces in the form of a yawn.

"Thank god you've already showered. If not, I wouldn't let you on the bed." Triss complained. She already had her legs spread out on the bed.

"Hey, why do you get the bed again?" Raven protested. I would have thought I was seeing things but I wasn't. Triss atcually blushed instead of protested. "Nah I'm pulling your leg kiddo." He then tusseled her hair. I never paid close attention but I would conclude that Triss is scared of Raven. Or not.

"Haha, stop it man."

"I'll bunk on the floor. I'm part Cherokee, I can withstand anything!" He brags. I laugh and shake my head. As cocky as my dark haired friend is, I love him alot and admire his pride in his heritage. Sadly because of his childhood, Raven doesn't know the Tsalagi.( Language of the Cherokee) It's a long story but not mine to tell.

"Man, I salute your pride in your heritage but isn't that a tiny bit racist?" Ace points out. Raven retaliates by kissing his biceps. I have no idea what that means but I know he's not a racist dude.

"Hey Drave, what's for dinner?" Triss speaks up.

"Who wants pizza?" I blurt out. So much for nutrition. Everyone seems to be in agreement. Everyone but Abby who is snoozing against the wall. I don't know why, but a small smile manages to form on my face. "Pizza it is." I confirm as my eyes still laugh at how she resembles a toddler cuddling up to the wall.

I close the pizza box with the slice saved for Abby. The girl is still snoozing away. Since Triss and Jinx are sharing the bed, I guess Ace and I can have the other one. I take the extra blanket and set it on top of her, making her grin in her sleep and snuggle up to it. I smirk when I see this. Finally I crawl into the bed and let out a huge yawn. I better catch up on my sleep so for tomorrow.
