Darkness is all I can see
As I lay here in my sleep.
Thoughts flash through my head
As I toss and turn in bed.
I can't help but wonder why
I can't here myself cry.
Then I remember how to smile
Because I haven't done so in a while.
I turn on the light
And I'm filled with delight.
I see pictures on the walls
Of the people down the halls.
I know that they love me
And I love them dearly.
