Never Thought I'd Love You This Much...

Chapter 9

Alex Grey POV

I walk out of the classroom. He looked so hurt when I told him. No wonder why I was so nervous to tell him, but it's for the best. If I can't be with Fitz then I might as well date someone else that I can get my mind off of liking Fitz. Right? I shouldn't have these feelings for my teacher. Does he have feelings for me? What if he does that's why he looked so hurt. I wish I could go back there and hug him. Tell him I'm sorry this can't work out. I wish I could.

I get to the front of the school and just wait outside for James. I do like him, but when I look at him I don't get that same feeling I do when I look at Fitz.

"Hey!" He pulls me out of my thoughts.

"Hey. Ready to go?" I smile at him. He smiles back kinda dazed. "Yeah"

We get into the car. "Wow. This is really nice." He says as he looks around. "Thanks" I don't know what else to say. We talk but always in short conversations. I don't even think we have anything in common.

"So where are we off to?" He looks at me.
I stare straight ahead at the road. "I don't wherever you want"

"You pick and I'll pay." He faces forward. I glance at him, "You don't have to. And you pick."

"I want to. Let's just eat at... Whataburger." He reaches for the radio. "Do you mind?" I could see his steel blue eyes looking at me. I bite my lip," Go for it."

He switches stations until he finds a song he likes. The song is called Elastic Heart by Sia. "This is one of my favorite songs." I say as I turn into the drive through for Whataburger.

"Mine too. Also you don't want to eat inside?"

"I don't want to be late for class." I look at him and he has this puppy dog eyes. I smile and giggle to myself. "What? We could miss one class. But it's okay if you don't want to."

"Trust me I want to, but if I get caught this car is gone." I turn into a parking spot. "But for you I'll do it."

"Now I feel like I'm forcing you too." He sits back in his seat.

"Trust me you're not." I giggle.

"Wait. I have a better idea." He still seated back again his seat, but he turned his head to look at me. "What if we just go through the drive through and we'll have a real date Friday night?" He smiles which just throws me off course.

"Are you asking me out?" I unbuckle and turn my body to face him. He shrugs, "I hope so." He smiles nervously. "Okay deal for the first request. And yes." He sits up smiling like an idiot. I smile and shake my head. When I look at him were only inches apart. We just stare into each other's eyes. "I've been waiting for this moment for so long." He doesn't move. "I know. But not yet." I sit correctly on my seat.

(Time skip to the next day at lunch)

I just got my lunch and I'm about to go to Fitz class. Then I see Ashley. "So?" She looks at me with wide eyes and excitement. I blush because I know what she's talking about. "What?"

"So how was the date?"

"It wasnt a date. We were just hanging out, and how do you know I didn't tell you anything about it." I glare at her.
