My eyes teared up as I grabbed some more clothes off my closet hangers. The thought of leaving was unbearable.
What if I didn't like my new apartment? What if the people next door hated me? The hatred was gonna be the worst of all. I was bullied in school and no one liked me or even talked to me. I didn't find any friends that would except me for myself. So I left them alone.
Now I'm 19 and moving to an apartment in London to make new friends and a new life.
My decision on not going to university was great. I didn't have to socialize with strangers in the hallways or anything. I decided that moving to London was a reward, a getaway.
My parents were devastated about it but allowed me to go since I was 19 and can't be nagged around by my parents anymore. They were always at work but we make time for each other one way or another.
I finished folding up my clothes and snapped the suitcase top shut. I gripped the handle and walked toward the stairs leading to my parents, an emotional wreck. My mother was holding onto my father's chest, sobbing into his dark black suit, darkening a huge stain on his shoulder.
I let a loose tear drop down my cheek. I didn't care about it. I dropped my luggage once I arrived at the bottom of the stairs and gave my mother a bear hug.
"Goodbye, dear." She whispered into my ear. "I love you." I whispered back. "I love you too, sweetheart." She sobbed onto my shoulder, leaving a damp patch of tears.
I released myself from the embrace and walked towards my father, watching me with glossy eyes. "Bye dad," I said giving him a hug. He sighed, his shoulders slumped down, making his body hunched and crooked. "Goodbye, darling." He whispered, his voice shaking. I unraveled myself from the hug and grabbed onto my luggage.
I sighed and walked towards the van. I threw the suitcase into the vehicle which was filled with other boxes and bags. I trudged towards the passenger seat door to be greeted be a middle aged women. "Don't worry," she assured me. "It's gonna be less depressing once you're in London, trust me." She smiled kindly, making my heart ache a bit less.
I heaved a big sigh and lean back into my seat, starting to fall asleep the whole journey.
