I inhaled deeply as I slid the keycard into the matching slot. I grabbed for the door knob and opened my apartment door. The large interior astonished me. I took a few steps into my new apartment. The door leads straight into the living room, set with a couch, 2 love seats and a flat screen TV plastered into the wall. To the left were 2 large bedrooms and a washroom that connected the two rooms. There was a separate bedroom and bathroom for guests and to top it all off, a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, an oven/stove, and a little island I can use to sit at to eat food with.

The workers that sat in the back of the truck started to carry in boxes. I told them to drop it off in the living room as they walked in.

I walked towards the little island to drop off my items then towards the fridge. I was starving from the long 4 hour drive. I didn't find anything I wanted to eat but it was crammed with food.

I decided to go to Nando's since my stomach growled loudly to a point where I had to shush it. I craved nothing but that.

I walked towards the carried boxes and saw a box labeled 'accessories'. I wasn't a huge fan of earrings but I was good at picking out bracelets and necklaces

I grabbed out a simple black handbag with my wallet already in it and headed towards the door to the bedroom. I forgot that I didn't unpack anything clothes yet so I decided to go out in my jeans and sweater.

The air was freezing cold and I didn't bring a jacket. I started to shiver and hurried quickly towards Nandos. It wasn't that far, I would say about 5 blocks away from my apartment.

I pushed the door open and the warm aroma made my mouth water. Everybody was engulfing food quickly as if it was their last meal. 'Slobs' I thought as I observed them. I ordered and waited for my food.

After a while a plate of chicken and glass of Coka-Cola came. I sat at a small booth fit for 4. The people in here were slobs, stuffing their faces full of marinated chicken. I grabbed a piece of chicken and took a bite. I now knew why everybody was such a slob. The chicken is just so good that they decide to swallow it whole rather than to savor. It was delicious and I engulfed the whole plate down in seconds.

I wiped my mouth with a napkin, hopefully getting rid of the sauce. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a tall, built, young man about 19 years old, which was my age, walk towards my table. He was cute with brown hair and gorgeous eyes. He stood directly in front of me. "Hey, can I sit here?" He asked. His British accent was strong. "Uh, sure." I replied, unaware of what I was doing.

There was a long awkward silence. I really hated awkwardness in general. It's just too uncomfortable for my taste. "I'm Jack," the man said while putting his hand out for me to shake. "Uh, I'm Claire," I say, taking his huge hand in mine and shaking it. His fingers were calloused and rough. 'Maybe i can flirt on him with my awkwardness' I thought sarcastically. His hand was warm against mine. "It's nice to meet you, Claire." His British accent was to die for. I love accents, they were so unique.

"It was nice meeting you too but I think it's time for me to get going," I say in a rush. I pay for my meal and try to leave the booth but he grabbed my wrist. "Um, could I get your number?" He asked, getting up from the booth. I stared up at him, he was a bit taller than me about a good 5 inches. His hair was quiffed a bit to the right. I never noticed it before but that made him look even cuter. "Uh, yeah, sure." He smiled and took out his phone. I put in my number and name. "There," I said and rushed out before he could see me blush profusely.

I sped towards my apartment and opened the door. Taking my shoes off and throwing them beside the door, I headed towards my bedroom and slumped into the soft mattress. I couldn't stop thinking about Jack. His name was cute as well. I giggled to myself and pulled the covers over my body. I then slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
