Later on in the week, Marcy and I had arranged our first date, and I was getting ready for her to pick me up. My stomach felt like it was tied in knots. Not only was this my first date with a girl, but she was my best friend. I was definetly anxious to say the least.

I dug through my closet trying to find something a little bit fancy to wear. Black jeans and band merch seemed to be all that I own. I settled on what other than black jeans and a Misfits shirt.  I glanced at the time and saw that I had no reason to hurry, so I sat down on the bed for a minute.  My cat, Tigger, leaped up in the bed beside me and promptly made himself at home on my pillow.   I reached my hand out to pet him and instantly he started growling.  I scoffed and said, "Excuse me cat, but your on my pillow.  The least you could do it let me pet you."  I reached my hand towards him again, and again he growled.

I stood up, letting Tigger have the bed to himself, and made my way to the bathroom.    One glance in the mirror and I was instantly reaching for my hair brush.   It only took a second to tame my short hair.  After brushing my teeth and changing into my clothes, I walked over to my dressed where my pile of band bracelets sat.   I chose a few and slid them onto my wrist.  I opened my drawer and found two socks, who cares if they matched or not.   Sitting down on the edge of the bed, I heard Tigger produce a tiny, starled mew.  It was almost strange to hear such a tiny sound come from such a huge cat.

I slipped on my socks and went downstairs, clutching on to the rail as I carefully decended the steps.  It probably wouldnt be fun to slip down a flight of stairs.  Once I made it to the bottom, I found my shoes and slid them on my feet.  I always made sure the laces were exactly how I wanted them before I tied them.   Again I glanced at the clock, it was 5:54 and Marcy was supposed to pick me up at 6.

I sat down on the couch, and almost immediatly heard Marcy pull into the driveway.   I sighed as I stood up.  I grabbed my phone, keys, and wallet then went to the door.   I paused before turning the handle and took a deep breath to calm myself.  I turned the lock and went outside where Marcy was waiting.
