August stared at me. Why was he looking at me like that. In a second he was gone. Where I once felt his body heat I now felt coldness. He stumbled back a few steps then regained his composure.
"No."
Did I hear him correctly? "No? What do you mean no." I was confused. A second ago he was ready to devour me, and now he's acting like I had two heads.
"You're drunk. I'm not going to take advantage of you."
All I could do was stare at him. My cheeks were flushed, and I could still feel my lower half tingling.
"If you didn't want to have sex with me at least be man enough to tell me. You don't have to make excuses." I was fuming at this point. How could you be so stupid Arya? Of course a guy like that doesn't want you. You'll never be good enough for someone like him.
I turned ready to storm out before I felt a grip on my wrist. Turning to face August, I didn't expect to see him so serious.
"I never said I didn't want to have you. I said I wouldn't have sex with you drunk."
Smf. Whatever. I rolled my eyes before pulling my hand free from his grasp, and heading towards the door.
"And Arya."
I stopped just as my hand touched the handle.
"When the time comes. I will have you. Sober. And trust me. You'll need all the sobriety you can get."
I could feel my face burning red from the statement. With one last look at him, and his signature smirk, I walked out.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"What happened to you last night? Where'd you go?"
I was sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee when Chandler came out to sit with me. I felt fine when I had woken up this morning. After last nights events came flooding in I couldn't help but groan. How embarrassing: my desperation. August's rejection.
"Well. After my date, you so kindly set me up with, decided he wanted to be an arrogant pretentious asshole. I decided he was in need of a good truthful talk with how I felt about him."
I could tell by the look on her face she felt guilty.
"Oh Ary, I'm sorry! I know I'm the worlds worst friend in the entire universe, and I never should've asked you to go on a date with a complete stranger. But I solemnly swear to never set you up on a blind date ever again. Scouts honor."
She could be so dramatic sometimes. I held a small smile, while turning towards her.
"You're not a bad friend Chan. I know you didn't mean any harm, and I'm glad I was able to lighten the mood for the night. We'll just pretend that last night ever happened." I wish I could forget all of last night. "Speaking of which. How'd it go with Nate?"
"About that-"
"Hey Chandler, can you help me find the-"
Nate stopped speaking once he saw me. Immediately his hands went to cover his naked torso. Embarrassment clearly evident on his face.
"Well. I guess you don't need to tell me how the rest of your guy's evening went."
I couldn't help but smile at Chandler. She sat there covering her face with her hands in embarrassment.
"Umm...I think I'm going to go shower."  Nate slowly backed out the door, leaving me and Chandler alone.
I turned to her ready for answers.
"You had sex with him?"
"Shhhh! I know I know. I wasn't planning on it! We were having such a good time, and then it all happened so fast! One second we were dancing. The next thing I knew we found our way here, and...you know the rest." She looked at me, waiting for my disapproval.
"Chandler, I'm happy if you're happy. If he makes you happy, then go for it! I'm not going to judge you. You're a smart girl, who can make her own decisions."
The look on her face tells me she wasn't expecting me to say that.
"So...how was it?"
Chandler and I are both virgins. Correction. I'm the only virgin between the two of us now. We never really talked about it before, mainly because we were both inexperienced. She had had boyfriends in the past, but they had never done anything, but make-out.
"He was...it was...Arya it was perfect. It's like nothing I've ever felt. The way he looked at me, it was like I was the only girl in the world, and he made sure to show me." She giggled staring off into the distance with the biggest smile on her face.
"I'm so happy for you Chan. I'm glad it was everything, and more."
I got up and hugged her.
"Oh trust me. It was so so so much more." She gave me a smirk telling me to let my imagination do the rest.
"Ok ok. On that note, I'm going to go get ready. See you after class?"
She burst out laughing.
"Yes ma'am you will." With that she skipped back inside.
I wish I could be as happy as Chandler. It would be nice to have someone to spend my time with. To have someone care about me like that. No one could ever love someone like me.
