"Rise and shine my beautiful roommate!"
Groaning I rolled over to see Chandler sitting on the end of my bed. What time is it? Glancing over I couldn't help but let out an agitated growl.
"Chan. It's 7am. What could you possibly has to tell me that's so important this early in the morning?"
With a knowing smile plastered on her face I couldn't help but wonder what's wrong.
"Ok. You have my attention. What's up?"
"So yesterday at practice I ran into Nate."
I stared at her clueless to what she was trying to say.
"Ok. Who's Nate?"
She stared at me with an 'are you kidding me look' and that's when I realized.
"Wait...you mean naked Nate from freshman year?"
She gave me a giddy smile confirming my question. Nate was a new student our freshmen year of high school. All of the girls were head over heels for the guy. He was your typical boy next door. He was super sweet, and attractive, but he didn't know it. Basically one of the rare ones. Over summer vacation he and a group of friends went skinny dipping out by the lake, and ended up getting their asses plastered all over school because some girls took photos. Hence the name "Naked Nate." Nate's parents found out and they pulled him out of school, and made him transfer to an all boys school. Chandler was heartbroken. Her and Nate had become really good friends. She always joked around about him being 'the one that got away.' Since then no one had heard from him.
Well, until now that is.
"Yes! He's on the football team, and I ran into him during one of our breaks. We got to talking, and he asked me out! We were on the phone together all last night, and tonight's our date."
Her voice went quiet.
"So what's the matter? That's great news Chan!" I didn't understand why she was so upset.
"Because what if he doesn't like me? What if he's not into me, or he doesn't like the person I am now. What if he thinks I'm not pretty enough, or what if-"
"Chan it's ok! I promise you he will love you. You know why?"
She gave me a small shrug.
"Because Chandler, you're smart, you're outgoing, you're one of the nicest most kind people I've ever met. Plus you are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, and any guy would be lucky to have you."
A stray tear fell from her eye. Then she hugged me.
"Thank you so much Arya. You know. I've always known you were too good to me." She let out a laugh. "You know...I may not know what went on at home. Not fully anyways-"
"Chandler you-"
"No let me finish. You're one of the strongest people I know. Even though you went through all of the shit you did. You were always there for me, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life."
I couldn't help but stare at her. Me? Why would she think I'm strong. I'm weak. I couldn't stop my mother from taking pills, or drinking. I wasn't strong enough to say no when she wanted them.
"You may not believe me, but trust me. You are. On a high note. Will you help me get ready for my date? I have no idea what to wear, or anything! Shopping day?"
I gave her my biggest smile and gave her a simple answer. "A shopping day it is."
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Come on! You never shop for yourself." Chandler whined.
"Yes. Because I like the clothes I have."
It was simple. I was plane Jane. Nothing about me stood out. I was comfortable with what I already had. It wasn't much, but it was enough.
"Oh Arya, please. Just try on one dress." She pleaded.
"What on earth do I need a dress for? I never wear dresses Chan. You know that."
"True...but you could wear one for the club tonight." I turned and faced her with a blank stare.
"What do you mean? You have a date tonight remember?"
Suddenly I felt a little suspicious.
"Yes. I did, I do. You see-"
"Chandler.."
"Nate has a friend and I told him that he could come because I'd set him up with my beautiful best friend because she's single. Which you are single, but this way I didn't have to be so nervous on our first date. Please don't be mad!"
Damn it Chan. "Fine. But only this ONE time."
She squealed with delight. She ran up and hugged me. "Thank you thank you thank you!"
"Yeah yeah. You owe me."
The things I do for her.
"So who's his friend?"
Without a second to lose she went on about how he's studying pre law, and how handsome he is. She told me a good amount about him to peak my interest. Just go with it. How bad could it be? Best case you guys hit it off. Stop being a little bitch.
This is going to be a long night.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Chan I can't wear this!"
When we were in the store Chandler had convinced me that the dress I had bought was perfect, but looking at it now I feel like one wrong move, and I'll have some serious exposure.
"Chandler if I even attempt to dance in this dress, people will get a whole lot more than their paying for."
I was wear a tight red dress with a plunging neck line. It stopped just enough below my bottom to keep it to the imagination. There were cut outs just below my ribs, and a small slit on the left thigh.
"Babe. You look hot. You'll drive Jason crazy."
Jason was the guy Chandler and Nate so graciously set me up with. How could I have agreed to this. I'm not even pretty enough or thin enough to wear something like this.
My hair was done in loose curls, while my make up was smokey with bright red lips.
Chandler on the other hand looked gorgeous. She had an emerald green dress to go with her soft strawberry blonde hair. On anyone else it would've looked too revealing, or desperate. Somehow she was able to make it look elegant, and sophisticated. I envied her confidence.
"Are you ready beautiful."
"As ready as I'll ever be." I mumbled with little enthusiasm.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Jason this is Chandler. Chandler this is Jason."
We just arrived at the restaurant. Nate thought it would be a good idea for us to grab a bite to eat before we went to the club.
"It's nice to meet you Arya." Nate looked at me with what I assume was suppose to come off as a sexy smirk, but it came off as more of a forced smile. It was nothing in comparison to August's smirk. August...hmm. I wonder what he's doing right now. I wonder if he would like clubbing. Wait? Stop it Arya. You don't even know the guy. You're on a date. Stop thinking about another guy.
"Nice to meet you Jason."
"Alright, shall we." Nate motioned for us to go inside.
The hostess sat us in a corner booth near the back of the restaurant.
After she took our orders I couldn't help but notice the glances Jason kept making towards our waitress. His smug expression tells me he was thinking about more than just his order. Pig. I decided to lighten the mood and make some small talk with Nate.
"So Nate. What've you been up to these last few years?"
He told us all about how much of a struggle it was for him to adjust, and how awful it was at first. Then he said he met a lot of great people, and worked harder in school. Overall he seems to have done pretty well with himself these last 3 years.
"Boring. New topic." Jason interrupted with a bored tone.
"What would you like to talk about them. Jason." The irritation in my voice was clear, and I caught a glance at Chandler who gave me a pleading look to play nice. Fine. I'll suck it up.
"How about we talk about how fucking sexy you look in that dress. Better yet. Let's talk about how good you'd look out of it."
I bit my tongue to keep from going off on him. Keep it cool Arya. Do this for Chandler. Don't ruin it for her. I gave him a tight smile, and we all continued on with idle small talk.
The rest of dinner was eaten in silence. Tension coursing through the air. I wanted to smack that dumb smug look off Jackasses face.
We payed the bill and headed over to the club. This will be over before you know it Arya. You can drown your annoyance in alcohol, and never have to see this prick again.
The club was packed. There were hundreds of people grinding against one another. People circulating drinks all around.
"Wow."
"My friend Miles hooked me up. This is his club. Underage drinking isn't his thing, but he said if we keep it under control he'll look the other way." Nate clearly wanted to impress Chandler, which worked. If only he knew he didn't even need to try to impress her.
Within a matter of minutes Chandler and Nate had found their way to the dance floor and were all over each other.
I quickly made my way to the bar. Jason following behind me. Can't he take a hint?
"Gin and Tonic, please."
"What about you and I skip the useless teasing and get out of here? I know you want me, and I want you. Let's just get to the fucking already. What do you say?"
I tried biting my tongue. I promised Chandler I would play nice.
"Come on babe." With that he cupped my ass. That's it.
"Listen here buddy. Let's cut to the chase. You're a pig. I'm not attracted to you. I'd rather chew on razor blades than have to spend the rest of the night with you drunkenly hitting on me. So if you'd excuse me. I'm going to sit here, and have my drink. As for you. I don't give a fuck."
"Whatever. Bitch." With that he left.
Thank the heavens.
"You're able to turn away unwanted attention with such confidence, yet you can't make a simple drink order?"
I'd know that sexy voice anywhere. I turned to face those same sexy blue eyes I saw just yesterday.
"I don't need help picking out all my drinks." Act sexy Arya. You got this. You can't be sexy. Yes you can.
"I can see that." He's giving you that look.
"What brings you here, August." I crossed my legs pushing my chest out enough to catch his attention. I caught the look of lust in his eyes.
"Pleasure, Arya. Pleasure is what brings me here."
My drink gave me confidence. Keep it together Arya. You've got this. I dared to push this topic a little further. Moving closer I placed my hand on his thigh.
"How about you give me the pleasure of a dance." I removed my hand from his thigh and made my way to the dance floor. I want sure if he followed or not. I started dancing. The alcohol was rushing through me, and the music had me swaying my hips. Then I felt a presence behind me.
"You're teasing me." He whispered in my ear.
Instead of responding I ground myself into him. He forcefully gripped my hips. It wasn't painful. It was exhilarating. My head cradled into his neck, and my hand found the back of his neck, while the other held his thigh. Every logical thought in my mind was gone. Suddenly I felt his member poking at my back. I smiled to myself. You must be doing something right Arya. I was high. On the music. The lust. The alcohol. I had never felt this free. In a second of confidence I ran my hand up his thigh. I made my way closer to the place he was craving attention. I ran my fingers up and down making him growl in my ear.
"That's not fair, Arya."
"No one said I played fair." I smiled proud of my confidence. He grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the dance floor. He lead us down a hallway into an empty back room.
"What are you-"
Before I could finish he crashed his lips against mine. I'd never kissed anyone before. He lifted me up and pushed me against the wall. His pelvis grinding into mine. I let out a moan of pleasure. He took the opportunity to shove his tongue in my mouth. The pleasure I felt was consuming.
"August.." I moaned his name. It was the only thing I could think of. There were no other thought other than his lips on mine. He took one of the hands he used to pin me up, and trailed it down my torso.
He placed his hand on my sex and began to rub. Slowly. Teasing me.
"Fuck." I couldn't think. I couldn't breathe.
"August, please." I was panting.
"I want you Arya." His voice was strained."
"Then have me."
