"Yeah I think she's out with Blaise," I could hear Liz saying as they slowly made their way closer to the living room. I just stayed cuddled up to Brad. Whit didn't scare me. Liz maybe scared me, but I knew she wouldn't embarrass herself in front of Whit.
"I'm here and I can hear you talking about me!" I yelled just so they were prepared to see me before the awkward encounter occurred. Brad chuckled at my comment causing me to smile up at him. "Don't worry. He is too much of a wimp to say anything."
"Oh I'm not worried," Brad said confidently.
"Heyyy Charlie," Liz said so awkwardly as she stood at the entrance to our living room.
"Hey Liz," I responded.
"Hey Charlie," Whit said as he strolled into sight with his hands in his pockets. You could tell he was so uncomfortable. His eyes got so wide when he saw I was cuddled up to someone who was not him. "How are you?"
"I'm doing great actually. Liz, Whit this is Bradley." I said pointing to Brad.
He did a slight wave and said, "Nice to meet you both."
"Are you from that band?" Liz asked. I just chuckled, and Brad tightened his grip around me.
"Yes, I'm from that band." Bradley laughed.
"How the hell did you meet then?" Whit asked as his body stiffened.
"Uh, I ran into her in the street. I knocked everything she owned to the ground," Brad was beaming with a smile.
"How are you Whit? How are things with that girl?" I honestly wanted to know, I wasn't just trying to create conversation. He had left me for some girl who made him feel special, and honestly I hope she was doing that. Whit is a great guy and deserved to be loved properly. I'm just glad it's not me anymore, and I'm happy I quickly realized that.
"I could be better," he started. "And yeah things didn't really work out with that girl. I was way more into it than she was."
"Shit, I'm sorry to hear that." And I genuinely was. Like I said, he means well.
"Yeah it's alright, I'll be fine."
We just kind of sat in an awkward silence for a little too long when Liz finally said, "Uhh we are just going to go to my room."
I just waved as they walked off to Liz's room. Whit's eyes were watching Brad and I the whole time till we were out of sight.
"He's kind of weird," Brad whispered in my ear causing me to laugh.
I hit him lightly and said, "Hey, be nice! I spent 3 years of my life with him."
"You're right, I'm just jealous."
"And why are you jealous, Bradley?" I whispered in his ear. He got chills, and I just smiled at that fact that I was the one to make him feel this way.
"Because he's a lucky guy. He had you all to himself for three whole years."
I just shock my head, and rolled my eyes, "Yeah but that was the past. You, Bradley, are right now and that is all that matters."
"You need to stop calling me Bradley."
"Oh yeah? Why's that?"
"Because if you do it's going to turn me on."
"Hmm," I set my had on his upper thigh and whispered, "good to know, Bradley."
He shot up from the couch, and lifted me up over his should and stormed to my room. "That's enough you're in trouble."
I was in fits of laughter, "Put me down!"
Brad gently laid me down on my bed as he walked back and shut the door and made sure to lock it.
