As Billie walked up the path with both bags of shopping, he mentally applauded himself for being macho enough to handle both. He looked around the garden, making a note to tidy it up a bit. He tripped over one of Joey or Jake's toys and swore, banging into the front door as Joey opened it and looked up at him with an innocent expression.

"Was that your stupid toy?" Billie asked, gritting his teeth. He saw Joey thinking hard before answering.

"You said a swear." He smirked, looking up at his father more confidently.

"I said, 'was that your stupid toy?'" Billie repeated.

"You said shit." Joey insisted.

Billie narrowed his eyes before deciding. "Open all the doors for me, I'll give you 5 bucks and neither of us will speak of this again." He sighed, and Joey nodded eargerly before opening the doors and watching Billie struggle in with the shopping then lean against the counter. Billie raised an eyebrow as Joey held a hand out, before digging in his pockets and handing him a five dollar bill.

"Great job Armstrong." Joey said before sauntering off.

"Watch it, Joey!" Billie yelled before starting to put the food away, in what he hoped was the right place. Adrienne walked in and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Nice shopping trip?" She asked. Billie nodded and kissed her quickly, pulling back when we heard footsteps.

"Daddy!" Jakob was suddenly running towards him, and before Billie could react, Jake had slammed into Billie and hugged his legs.

"Oomph! Hey kiddo!" Billie picked him up and hugged him as Adrienne laughed.

"Be careful kiddo, daddy's getting old." Adrienne smiled.

"Ouch! I'm only 32!" Billie pouted, and Adrienne giggled, taking Jake to the living room after shouting of Billie to take the trash out. Billie groaned and picked the bag up, tying it and making his way to the door. Joey caught his eye as he was observing his $5 bill.

"Look after that, it's hard earned cash." Billie grinned before stepping outside and walking to the bin. He lifted the lid off and dropped the trash inside, looking at the fence as something caught his eye.

It was a tiny envelope, outlined in gold, and his name was on it.

He picked it up and opened it carefully, sliding the letter out to read it. His whole body froze at the words scrawled out.

'five dollars well spent.'
