I was just having a normal day, sitting in the backyard with Adie and the kids. Joey kept throwing his baseball at me, giggling whenever it bonked me on the head.

I love my backyard, it has a fence all around it so I feel safe most of the time.

I didn't even care, it was nice just being carefree. Not worrying about any of these stupid threats.

Mike had been great, watching over me and my family and making sure we were all okay.

"Dad!" I heard Joey yell. I looked up to see him pointing to something. When I had ran over, I realised it was a small pebble. "It just landed there. It wasn't me." He said, looking up at me innocently.

My heart lurched as I picked the pebble up, examining it.

"Uh some kid probably threw it in here. Go help mom with the dinner." I mumbled, patting his head. I watched as Adrienne looked at me concerned. I smiled to assure her before she picked Jakob up and headed into the house.

I threw the pebble back over the fence, turning around.

I had just started walking back to the house when I was struck with something, on the head.

It hurt but not too much to cause a serious injury.

An object which was small, light. But hard.

A pebble.

I span around and saw the offending object, rubbing my head.

I nearly choked on nothing when I saw that the pebble had an envelope tied to it.

I picked the envelope off, slipping the string off and opening it up.

I took a deep breath before reading the letter, trying to calm myself down.

'I'm back.'

Now was not the time to calm down.
