Caroline was the third Winchester child. Mary Winchester had made a deal with the demon Azazel, that in ten years time he had permission to come in. Azazel did, he had put demon blood in the youngest winchesters mouth, Sam. Mary, John, and Dean were fast asleep, Marry didn't wake up that night. Azazel continued to visit Sam in his sleep for 4 and a half years. In which time baby Caroline was born and introduced to the family. Mary didn't die until November 2 1989, when Sam was 4 and 6 months old. Sam had finally woken up durning one of Azazel's visits. Like any 4 year old he screamed. Marry was first in his room. Azazel of course flung her to the ceiling, lighting her on firer. And the rest is history.
