Bellamy and Clarke met up later in the week for a serious study session. Clarke had a big test coming up, and Bellamy needed the extra working time for his primary project. He wanted to be a detective. They decided to get coffee first then find the right spot at the library. They scored two comfy overstuffed chairs with a decently sized table to work on in front of a central fireplace. Clarke would poke him with the end of her pen every time she had a question. He didn't mind smiling and leaning over to help her without hesitation or complaint. They kept studying for hours before Clarke stopped to check her phone. "Oh my god, Bell, it's like 11:14! Come on. We gotta go home. I'm exhausted." She yawned.
"Can we do this more often? We work well together." She said between yawns. Bellamy stretched his arms over his head.
"Sure thing, princess. Just call me. Let's go. I'll walk you home.
"You live across the street Bell." Clarke rolled her eyes.
He laughed and picked up her bag for her. They walked home, talking adamantly for a while before it fell into a comfortable silence. "I'm just going to throw this out," Bellamy said, crossing the street. It was dark outside, the only light coming from the streetlights and the wet pavement reflecting the light as Bellamy reached the trash can. He heard violent muffled screaming. "Clarke?!?" He turned back to her and found some man holding a wet cloth to her mouth and nose. She struggled against him. "Get the hell away from here!!!" Bellamy yelled.
"Oh shit! Bellamy! I'm so sorry, man!" The guy put his hands up in surrender. Bellamy didn't recognize the guy, but he had made quite the reputation across campus. He grabbed the guy by his black hoodie and started to beat the ever-loving crap out of him. He was knocked out before he turned to take care of Clarke. He picked her up and ran to the nurse inside the university. He walked in with her telling the lady at the counter what happened. She directed him towards the doctor's office. She was slowly starting to come to.
"Clarke! Are you okay?!? We are at the doctor's office now, okay. You are safe."
"What the hell happened?" She asked floating back into unconsciousness. The doctor checked her breathing and the scratch across her eyebrow she got when she fell and told Bellamy to make sure she got home safe and got some sleep. Bellamy nodded. He carried her home and called his sister to open the door, so he could bring her inside. There were over a dozen pairs of eyes on him when he got in, asking what happened. He told them some guy tried to grab her and that he knocked her out but that she was okay. Now that he thought about it, he left that guy there on the sidewalk. Serves him right. He turned to Octavia, who looked scared for her friend. "Where is her bedroom O?"
"Top floor. I'll show you." The rest of the girls stayed in the main lounge area. She opened the door for him and then closed it so they could have their privacy. He set her down in her bed and tucked her in. He grabbed a piece of paper and started to write a note. She woke up and anxiously looked around but sighed with relief when she saw Bellamy.
"Hey." He smiled empathetically at her.
"Thank you, Bellamy. I was scared he took me."
"Not on my watch, princess. You're safe now." He sighed and looked around the room awkwardly. "Well, you need your rest. I should go-"
"No! Umm... I mean...Can you stay with me? Please?" She whispered.
He sighed and ran his fingers roughly through his hair. "Sure, princess." She got out of bed and changed into pyjamas. Which was actually a pair of boxers and one of Bellamy's shirts. He chuckled to himself. He took off his jeans and shirt and got into bed. "I'm just telling you now, princess, you better be able to control yourself. I don't want to be fighting you in the middle of the night because you want me so bad." He teased her.
She laughed and threw a pillow at him. He caught it and pulled it into his chest, smirking smugly at her. She got in and fell asleep quickly.
Bellamy woke up to Clarke asleep on his chest. Without really thinking about it, he kissed the top of her head. She moved in her sleep, and Bellamy's heart began to race. Why had he done that? What's wrong with him. What time s it? He had class at 9:00. He checked Clarke's phone for the time. 8:45. Shit! He had to go! He slowly got up and changed and ran out the door. The girls cheered as he ran out that morning, and he couldn't help but grin. For the rest of the day, all he could think about was her.
