Chapter Ten

   My attempt to skip school failed. My mom, of course, wasn't buying my act. I slowly make my way to my locker. I make sure to keep on high alert for Payton. So far, so good. I know she's going to pop her fake face soon. I make my way to first period and take my usual seat. I see Jack, Mark, and Felix talking. Jack looks very irritated at them while they just smirk. He looks away from them and crosses his arms. I smile. Those guys are a hand full. I wave at them and they say hi and wave back. As first period begins, Felix leans over to me.
"Mark and I have to tell you something before lunch," he whispers. I nod and continue on with class.

Before Lunch...

After class, I get my lunch and quickly search for Mark and Felix. All this morning, suspense was killing me. Now, I just need to find them. I hope I don't run into Payton. Spoke to soon...or thought to soon. I turn a corner to see Payton. Her surprised face turns into a smirk.
"Just the girl I was looking for," she smiles evilly. I gulp. I close my eyes and get ready for what's coming. Before she could even speak, someone grabs my hand. I look to see Felix with Mark right by his side. I see his glaring at Payton along with Mark. Payton gives a disgusted look before walking away in her heels. You know, my heels are higher than her standards, even though I'm not wearing any. But that's the point. Anyways, Felix and Mark drag me to the janitor's closet. What's with people dragging other people into this closet?!
"Glad we found you when we did," Felix says. Mark nods.
"What's with that girl and you?" Mark says with a annoyed look. I shrug.
"We know something's up between you and her. (Y/n)...is she...harassing you in any way?" Mark says with a concerned look. I bite my lip. Now's my chance to tell them. I sigh. I nod.
"Knew it from the day we saw her bullying you," Felix says. I look down to the floor.
"(Y/n), you could've told us. There's nothing to be afraid about," Felix says. I nod. I feel the tears about to come out.
"Hey...it's okay. You got us to protect you," Mark says with a smile. I nod while whipping my tears away.
"Sorry to break this moment, but this isn't really why we brought you here," Felix chimes in. Mark nods.
"We wanted to let you know. Umm...it's about Jack," Mark says while looking nervous. Oh god, did something happen to him?!
"Mark! Don't sound like Jack died or something?! Which he isn't," Felix yells at Mark with a glare. Good, now my heart can start beating again.
"Look, Jack likes y-," Mark starts to say. The door opens to reveal a very pissed-off Jack. The two guys gulp and run away.
"You assholes," Jack says under his breath. I smile.
"Those guys have a lot of explaining to do. Anyways, I need to tell you something very important," Jack says while staring into my eyes. Wait...before Jack came in here...was Mark about to say that Jack likes me?! No...well...oh god now I'm nervous.
"Look, (y/n)...you've been super special to me, ever since I met you that first day. There wasn't away hour that I haven't thought of you. All I'm trying to say is...that I like you. And I want to be more than friends," Jack says while he begins to blush. My face is frozen. I never thought this would happen. I nod. He smiles big and wraps his arms around me. Oh my god! He lets go and together we walk to the other guys. This is the best. As we're walking, he intertwines his hand with my hand very gently. I couldn't, but smile and blush. We walk outside and all eyes are on us. I gulp. I don't like attention. I guess Jack could tell that I didn't like how people are staring at us.
"It's okay. Just pretend they aren't there. I wish that everyday, you know," he jokes. I giggle and make my way to the others who are currently glaring at Payton with Payton glaring back.
"You guys okay?" Jack says while still holding my hand. The guys shake their heads.
"Payton is the problem. She's been harassing and bullying (y/n), ever since they met on that first day, but we handled the problem," Felix growls.
"We made sure Payton won't give you hell again," Mark says. Jack looks over to me.
"(Y/n), why didn't you tell me?" Jack says while sounding disappointed. I shrug. Before I know it, tears are falling down my face.
"It's okay. You got me. And know is ever going to hurt you or give you pain again," Jack says with a serious face. I smile. He gives me a warm hug.
"Looks like Jack's gotta girlfriend, finally," Felix says.
"And you ruin the moment," Jack jokes. This day couldn't get better. I have wonderful friends and a boyfriend. How could this day get ruined?

At The End Of The Day...

Jack and the others keep bothering me. They saw a poster for the art contest coming up this Friday. They kept pleading and pressuring me all day. I finally gave in. I sign up.
"YAY!" All of them cheers. I roll my eyes. I can't believe this. I sigh. Maybe this won't be so bad. I smile to Jack. He grabs my hand and we walk home together. This is the best day ever!
