"Baby, can you go put the bags in the car while I run back in to get something real quick?" Jayden said to her fiancé, Terrence.
"Yeah I got 'em."
"Okay. I'll be right back.
Jayden handed him the bags on the way out and went in the store for some milk and bread that she had forgotten. They were getting ready for a cookout for the fourth of July. She looked out the window of the store as she paid for the stuff and saw Terrence with the bags heading to the car. It was busy in the parking lot so they had to park across the street. She tried to hurry up and get back to the car before traffic got worse.
She was almost caught up to him but all of a sudden she heard a loud horn and a crash.
Terrence was hit by a drunk truck driver in the middle of the road.
"TERRANCE!!!" She screamed and fell to her knees.
"I'm here! I'm right here, Jayden wake up! You're having a nightmare." Terrence was woken up by her screaming and ran to her room.
She opened her eyes to see his face. She nearly jumped into his arms and began to cry. "I thought I lost you T.."
"I'm here for you baby girl. We're okay. You didn't lose me." He rubbed her shoulder and held her in his arms.
Surprisingly, her mom didn't wake up. Nyla has always been a heavy sleeper. Sometimes, Jay thought she was dead.
"Terrence, I love you okay. Don't ever forget that." She lay down on his chest while he lay next to her on the bed.
"I love you more. I'll never forget that. You're my everything, I'd never leave you Jay."
She looked up at him with her big brown eyes. "Promise?"
He held up his pinky to lock with hers. "I promise." He smiled.
And with that, they fell back to sleep even though it was around 9 a.m.
A couple hours later, Nyla woke up. She looked over and saw them.
