Ross POV

Once we made it back to our boards, I laid Jacqueline on the ground and started kissing her.  After a few seconds she pulled out and said, "Save it." I didn't argue; so far I hadn't been disappointed by one of her surprises. We dove into the water and started to paddle out.

I struck up a conversation, "Jacqueline, I feel like I've known you forever, yet I don't even know how old you are, your favorite color, food, subject, interests..."

She cut me off. "Okay, Ross. I am 16 years old, my favorite color is yellow, my favorite food is pasta, my favorite subject is English, I love music and sports." She nodded to me.  "Your turn."

"Favorite color: yellow, I'll eat anything, but I love french toast, I am out of school but I liked science, I love music, sports and airplanes... oh and I'm 18."

She looked at me intently and asked, "Now, do you actually feel like you know me better?" I didn't respond. "Didn't think so."  She continued, "How about this, WHY is your favorite color yellow?" I was at a loss for words. She kept talking, "I like it because it's bright and full of life.  It reminds me of the sun and piña coladas."

I looked at her and said, "Wow, I never thought about it like that."

"You have to think about the 'why' more than the 'what'."

"Okay then.  Why do you like sports?"

She responded without a second of hesitation. "The adrenaline. You forget about everything in your life, you get caught in the moment and enjoy yourself. Why do you like music?" She added "Other than the thousands of girls screaming your name."

I laughed and then answered, "Because it makes sense.  It can make you feel anything, take you to your own world.  Even when your life is screwed up and you feel lost, music is there." I looked her in the eye and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Then I said, "By the way, you're very sexy when you're intelligent."

"You're very sexy when you think." She turned her board away from me and yelled, "Come on!" She paddled away, leaving me to chase...but hey, I didn't mind the view!

I paddled after Jacqueline...I still didn't know where we were going or how we were possibly going to be able to see anything.  I saw her stop a few feet in front of me and swam up next to her. She said, "Okay, this is our destination." I looked around but a I saw were rocks.  It was so dark I could barely see anything except her neon eyes.  They were so light brown that they were almost orange. She continued, "Leave your board here." I did as I was told. "Hold my hand. And hold your breath!" Before I knew what was happening I felt myself being dragged under water. *Oh my god! Was this chick crazy?!* I kicked and flailed trying to stay calm, but I had no idea where she was taking me.

Finally I felt air enter my lungs and opened my eyes. "This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." I said the words that were true. I was in some type of underwater cove, sitting on a rock. The water was up to my shoulders so I could still breathe, and the rocks acted as a roof.  The water was literally glowing with what looked like little sparkles. "What are they?" I asked quietly.  Something about this place was to special to raise my voice.

"They're tiny little organisms.  They glow in the dark, but they are completely harmless."

"Wow." Was all I could say.

"This is where I come to think.  Or to be alone."

"I can see why...it's so peaceful."

"Ross Lynch, do you love me?"

I blinked and said, "Yes, I told you-"

"I mean, do you REALLY love me? How many girls have you kissed and said those words to-"

"A few, I'm not going to lie, But Jacq, you're different.  The way I feel when I'm with you...it's like...being struck by a bolt of lightning.  I feel alive, I feel happy, I feel like I wanna be with you forever.  I would stay right here with you for the rest of my life.  Really."

She hugged my and said, "Good. I love you." Then she leaned in and kissed me, and I pushed back.  We slowly made our way to a higher rock so we could lay down above the water.  She worked her way down my neck, down my chest...
