I was awoken by a light tapping at the door.
"Come in." I called sleepily.
I sat up, and rubbed my hair, hoping I was presentable, for my unplanned and early guest.
The door opened and I was surprised to find Gaius stood in the doorway.
"Good morning, Sophia." He said happily, as he walked over to the window, which was covered by the long, red curtains, and pulled them back, letting the beautiful sunlight flood the room. "I hope I didn't wake you?" He asked.
"Not really. I will say your vist is a pleasant surprise, but what could bring you here so early? I am not ill." I told and questioned him.
"I am sorry for the timing of my vist, but it is the first day of your month of being castle bound, and helping me on my duties" I groaned, over night I was free from my punishment, but Gaius had just reminded me it was all real. "It is also the day of young, Mordred's becoming of a high knight and we have work to do before then." He informed me.
"What do you make of Mordred?" I asked Gaius, as I climbed out of bed.
"Well," he said handing me my clothes. "It's not really my place to say."
"Gaius." I sighed, as I walked behind the screen, so I could change in privacy. I was taking this opportunity of no servant, to dress myself, which was a rare delicacy. "You can tell me. I mean, if I am to accompany him to all the events over the next 2 weeks, I should like to know what he is like."
"Well, he seems to have easily warmed to your brother - they seem to be very close." He told me.
"Do you think he means Arthur harm?" I inquired, as I stepped into my new gown, which I would wear to the ceremony today.
"I don't think so. Although, Merlin has his doubts." He chuckled to himself, "but then Merlin has doubts about each and everyone of us, doesn't he?"
"Indead." I replied. "Could you help me with this fastening?"
"Of course." He told me, as I stepped out from behind the screen and turning to face away from him, in order for him to fasten my dress.
"There you go." He said, announcing he was done.
"Thank you. Shall we continue?" I asked, gesturing to the door.
"Of course."
We walked along the corridors, talking about Merlin, My brother and today's ceremony.
"I'm sure it shall go brilliantly." Gaius said, as we arrived, at the physicians quarters, where he and Merlin lived.
"So, what are we doing?" I asked.
"Well, waiting for a high knight, as I informed your father and he said a knight will meet you hear, so we can start with our duties early."
"Ohhhh...." I said, wondering who the knight was going to be. It wouldn't be Arthur, as he will be busy preparing a speech for today's feast. It wouldn't be Mordred, he would be getting ready for today's ceremony.
"What, are you thinking about?" Gaius quizzed. Gaius always knew when I was troubled or deep in thought.
"I am trying to work out, which knight my father will send." I told him.
"Well, I think..." although he didn't get to finish, as he was interrupted by a knock at the door.
I smiled nervously, "This will be him." I said, as I made my way to the door.
I waited a couple of seconds before I pulled the handle.
I opened it to find Sir Leon stood in the door. Of course, I thought to myself, he would send Leon. He is the most loyal to Uther, as he has served under him for the longest. Another reason my father sent him, is he won't let me do ANYTHING I'm not supposed to.
