Chapter 21

Maya's POV:
I laid in the bed inhaling and exhaling the air while I stared at the pregnancy test in my hand. A few tears rolled down my face .

It's positive! I said to myself.

I started crying even harder. This can't be ! I can't be pregnant ! I heard the door bell go off so I got up, wiped my tears and went downstairs to open the door .

I opened the door and saw a smiling Kayla then her smile turned into a slight frown."Maya what's wrong?"

"I..i..i need you to come inside!" I said pulling her hand. She nodded her head ."Ok !"

we both walked upstairs and I ran to the bed and started crying! "Maya calm down !whats wrong?" Kay asked sitting at the edge of the bed .

I couldn't even talk so,I just handed her the test . I didn't even turn around to see her facial expression.

"Aww Maya congratulations........ what are you going to do though?"I sat up ." I don't know how to tell Chris and his parents!"

"Girl , are you going to keep the baby?"I sighed." I want to but , i don't know how to be a mom !"

"Well girl I promise I'ma be here for you every step of the way and i'ma help you take care of him or her." She said with happiness in her voice. I hugged her ."Thanks kay !"

"Your welcome love !" She said with a smile ."Well I think we should go out and get you at least one more test to be on the safe side." She said running her fingers through her long ponytail.

I nodded my head and grabbed my car keys and stood up then Kayla and I headed to the car . We arrived at Walgreens we hopped out the car and went straight for iall 4 . I watched as she grabbed the pregnancy test and she went to go pay for it .

I had my own money but she decided to buy it herself . I stood there in line with my arms crossed .

"Maya!"I heard someone yell. I slowly turned around feeling chills running down my spin. Something in my head told me not to turn around so I didn't .

"Maya rose Louis !" Right then and there I fro-zed once I heard my mothers name which is my middle name . "Don't you dare ignore me , your my daughter and you know it !" He spoke powerful and slightly drunk as always.

I rolled my eyes and turned to look at him feeling all my anger build up inside of me ."I'm not your daughter ! what man beats and rapes his so called "daughter" and gets her pregnant then makes her abort it !" I yelled. Everyone turned to watch this like this was a soap opera .

He walked towards me trying to grab me until I started screaming and crying! "Get away from me !" I felt Kay grab me pulling me into a hug .

"Miss do you want me to call the cops ?" The cashier said holding up his phone . I was so out of it at the time that I didn't even get to answer , Kay spoke for me ."No it's fine ." We both walked out the store to the car and left .

I laid my head against the wall in the bathroom while kay looked over the test ."Yeah , You are definitely pregnant . When you gonna tell Chris ?" She asked sitting across from me on the floor .

I sat there thinking about what my mom would say to me but for some reason I couldn't get the fact that she's gone off my mind . "I don't know. I don't even know if I want it !"

"Is it because the abortion ?" I nodded my head yeah . "Yes .... It's crazy that I'm saying this but , Kay I wanted that baby . I needed that baby !" I said as my eyes got glossy .

"M ? Why ?" I took a deep breath. "Because I was so alone and depressed. I didn't feel loved after my mom left me here to deal with that bastard. That baby would of been what I needed !"
