You and Jack had another date scheduled for that Wednesday, at your house instead of in public. That however, didn't give you much time to learn anymore sign language. Oh well. Anyway, Alli was out hanging at Felicity's house, gladly agreeing to stay the night so the two of you could have your privacy. You rolled your eyes and shoved her out the door, before sitting on the couch. It was not to long after when your doorbell rang, leading you to have to gain the effort and desire to get up. You finally found it, and truthfully it didn't take a lot, and you answered the door. It swung open revealing none other than Mark and Jack. Mark reassured you that he would leave that way you and Jack could have your fun. You rolled your eyes, slightly annoyed but deep down inside you knew it was all in good fun.

You ordered pizza, because who doesn't like pizza, and ate it on the couch. You had a full size notepad this time, and you communicate through that. You found out that Jack was not only a great musician, but a great artist as well, and that his handwriting was quite fantastic. When you complimented him on this he brushed it off, but you insisted it was true. You figured, based on past experiences, that he didn't get compliments that much so you made sure that he understood how much you meant it. He just rolled his eyes and took another bite of pizza.

He wipes his hands off on his pants and grabs the pen out of your hand. "Can we try something?"

"What?"

"Could I feel what talking is like?" He hands you the pen nervously, unsure of your answer.

You smile and nod. "How?"

"I'd have to touch your vocal chords..."

"Just don't strangle me, ok?" You joke, smiling.

He smiles back and tentatively reaches out, touching your throat. "What should I say?" You write.

"Your name maybe?" You nod.

"Y/n." You say. Jack jerks his hand back and clenches it in a fist in front of him.

"You ok?" You write, concerned. He nods and gently places his hand back.

"Again." He asks.

"Y/n." You say again.

He jumps a little, but his hand stays on your throat. He nods and you say your name once more. He has you say Mark's name and then his, clapping excitedly. You smile.

"Ooh, ooh. Could you sing something?" He scribbles. You blush.

"Jack, I can't sing." You complain.

He smiles. "It's not like I can hear it anyway."

You give an over exaggerated sigh. "Fine." He claps again.

You smile and he holds his hand up to your throat. You search your mind, trying to figure out what to sing, and the song that Mark sung on the night you met Jack popped into your head. It was called, "Walking Blindly", you think. You held up one finger, telling Jack to wait as second, while you googled the lyrics. And then you began to sing.

"Please stay with me, until the very end, because I'm walking blindly without you."

Jack's smile widens, causing you to laugh. He looks at you and you stop laughing, but he shakes his head. He makes an "again" kind of motion and so you laugh again. He smiles, taking his hand off your throat, grabbing the pen and writing.

"I imagine you have a beautiful laugh." You blush and shove it off. He tilts his head and writes again.

"Why is it that when you compliment a girl, she immediately denies it and gives you a reason on why that's not true?"

You take the pen from him, thinking, before replying. "I guess some girls just don't think to highly of themselves and their brain tells them that you are just saying that or you don't really mean it. I guess in it's own way, they are subconsciously trying to get you to compliment them more so they can feel better about themselves."

Jacks nods, seeming to understand. "Y/n," He asks. "What's your favorite color?"

You sigh thinking before answering. "Red, I guess."

"So you like Mark's hair better than mine?" He jokes.

"No, I like yours much better." You reassure him.

He smiles, satisfied. "What does red sound like?"

"Jack, red doesn't have a sound." You tell him.

He looks at you. "Nothing has a sound to me." He reminds you. "So, what does red sound like?"

You pause, before writing your answer. "Red is like the heat from a fire, it crackles, it's hot and it will hurt you if you're not careful. It's dangerous, but it's pretty, and you can never quite get enough."

He nods. "What about Blue?"

"Jack!" You complain, exasperated.

He smiles. "Last one, I promise."

"Ok. Blue is like the opposite of red. It's a calm, relaxing sound, one that will lull you to sleep. It's like the ocean waves, crashing on the shores so vast that you should get lost in it. Similar to your eyes. Your eyes are like the ocean, they're pretty."

He stares into your eyes. "Your eyes are pretty too." He says.

"Your eyes are prettier." You challenge back, poking him as you do.

He flinches away from your poke. "Oh, is little Jackaboy ticklish?"

He wildly shakes his head "No,"' and you laugh again.

You attack him, tickling him only to stop when you hear laughter escape his mouth. You look at him in shock.

"You laughed." You write.

He reads that, his eyes widening in fear. He covers his mouth, his cheeks flushing the brightest red you've seen in your life. You can tell he is absolutely terrified.

"What?" You asked, confused.

He takes the pen, scribbling something down before tossing it back on the coffee table. He curls up into a little ball in the corner of the couch as you read it.

"I've never heard my laugh before, and in grade school I was teased about it sounding absolutely horrific."

You look over at him, and see tears well up in his eyes. You frown and continue reading. "People would always say that, so I do my best not to laugh. No one needs to hear it if it sound obnoxious."

"Aww, Jack. It's not obnoxious." You reassure him.

He looks up at you. "Really?"

You smile and nod. "It's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard."

He looks up at you hopefully.

"Those people were lying to you just because they knew you couldn't prove them wrong."

You lean over and hug him, pulling him closer and letting him curl up on you. You play with his hair until he falls asleep on you, kissing the top of his fluffy, green floor.

"I love you, Jack. I love you."
