Doubting

Mark came back later that night to find the two of you snuggled together on the couch. He smiled and snapped a picture of it, as Mark is so prone to do, before heading off to bed himself.

The next morning came too early for Jack and he stirred, sitting up to the smell of breakfast coming from the kitchen. Mark was already up, which really didn't surprise Jack that much, and decided to make more food. Jack smiled, carefully getting off you and recovering you with the blanket that Mark had placed on the two of you late last night. Once he was sure that he hadn't woken you up, he wandered over to where Mark was by the stove.

"Morning." He signed to Mark, grabbing his attention from the stove.

Mark smiled. "How'd your date go?" He asked, putting down the spatula to talk.

Jack sighed, and mark looked at him concerned. "She told me."

"About that first date?"

Jack nodded, tears filling his eyes once more. Turning off the stove so nothing would burn, Mark hugged Jack, letting tears stain his shoulder. "Jack, it's ok." He reassured him.

"It's just like after what that lady said, I feel like I need to prove myself or something." Jack sighed, frustratedly running his hand through his hair, a habit he had picked up from living with Mark.

"She obviously loves you, otherwise she would've left you by now."

Jack shrugs, turning to look at your sleeping body on the couch. "I guess."

"Look, I don't know how to help you. It's probably better for you to put that stupid lady's words in the past." Mark said, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"I tried, Mark. But I just can't seem to let them go. Apparently she can't either."

Tears filled his eyes once more. Mark once again wrapped him in a hug. "Ugh, Mark. Why does life have to be so hard?"

Mark rubbed circles onto Jack's back and they just stood there, in the middle of the kitchen, Jack crying as all these thoughts raced through his mind. Eventually he calmed down and Mark told him not to worry about it, that everything would be alright. Jack nodded and they ate, joking quietly as you slept. You eventually woke, but by then the food was cold and Mark and Jack were nowhere to be found. You sighed, remembering last night's events. You take the piece of paper that you used to explain what happened, and after reading once more you tear it into little pieces. Your throw the pieces into the air and let them rain down on you like confetti, content with your actions.

You get up and walk around, noticing the leftovers from breakfast. You ignore them, looking for Mark and Jack. You knock on the bedroom door and someone shuffles over to answer it. It's Mark, of course, and he lets you in.

"Hey, it's Y/n. Finally awake?" He teases.

You roll your eyes and step inside, sitting next to Jack.

"Hello." You signed. He gives you a sad, simple smile and a little wave.

"What's wrong with Jack?" You ask Mark, concerned.

Mark sighs. "He's still put out from yesterday."

"That's what I was afraid of."

Mark nods. "Maybe if you just hang with him then he'll get to feeling better."

"Yeah, maybe."

Mark stands, exiting the room and shutting the door behind him. Now it was just the two of you again. Jack has his back towards you, sulking. You pull out your phone.

"Hey, Jack." You text. He sighs. "You ok?" You text again.

You hear typing and get a response. "No."

"What's wrong?"

"Me."

"?"

"I'm not good enough."

"Yes you are. You may not be perfect, but nobody is. And who cares if you can't hear. Your ability to hear has nothing to do with your ability to love. And I can tell you love me very much."

"Thank you."

He turns and faces you. You give him a hopeful smile. He smiles a bit as well. You text again.

"Look, People will tell you that you can't, for as long as you are trying to do something, and they are wrong. But nothing could be more wrong than actually believing them."

Jack giggles a little. "You sound like Mark. #inspirational"

You laugh, his smile widening as he texts again. "I guess you're right. I should stop throwing a pity party and move on with life. The past is in the past, right?"

You smile and nod, setting your phone down on the bed, you pull him in for a hug. He smiles and squeezes you back, before planting a kiss on your lips.

Author's Note

Another chapter done and gone. We're reaching the end... No... I really like this story. (I do too actually :) -A) Well, let's enjoy it while it lasts. Anyway, so everything's alright now. Jack's realized that it's ok to be different and sometimes you'll just get unnecessary hate. Oh, and that quote, the one that sounded like #InspirationalMark, that is actually a quote from him. (Oh my gosh, I love it -A) Anyway, I hope you like this chapter AND WE WILL SEE ALL YOU DUDES... In the next video.

All in all, Buh-Bye! -C
Peace! -A
