Past

That girl.
The one with golden hair and those gorgeously bright magenta eyes.
The new girl... Cameron. I think she likes me.

Even after the little game I had played with her, she looked so flustered and panicked when she was saying the names. I actually felt quite guilty..

I might be digging a bit too deep by saying this, but I know she loves me. It's pretty absurd to think, but also pretty obvious to see. Either way, I wish to see some proper confirmation.

The way she looks at me, the way she acts and... There's quite a lot I could point out about this human.
But I find it strange that she shows me this attitude. Out of all people. I suppose this is why I tease her.

Love is just a chemical reaction in the mind after all, there really isn't nothing much to it, well, in my opinion. Some people seem to take it very seriously

Also, isn't the love between human and creature a tad, you know, strange? And such an age gap too. I'm 17 turning 18 and the little kid is probably only 13 turning 14.

No, I don't hold any space for love for a human, but maybe I do. It's difficult to tell. I guess I just want to help her settle in a bit, I don't pity her or anything. She seems like a strong little girl, and that was proven by the game we played.

I mean, she has only been at this school for about two weeks now, and has bunked Thursday.
Well, I bunked Thursday too and saw her by the alley.

Being a new kid, especially human, must be difficult. Especially with the idea of different species of animals that walk like humans dunked into their minds.

This is the only highschool that is co-educated and welcome to both our races. It also happens to be one of the very few top schools. The second best in the country. The number one school is Mahogaberg High, it is also a co-educational school for humans and furries.

I'm pretty sure their school is larger than ours. It is a pretty good school, but I also heard there's rumors of drugs going around in their school.

How do I know this? Well, one of my friends goes to Mahogaberg. We met up yesterday at the park and had a splendid conversation- This is why I wasn't at school. She told me about cocaine, marijuana and steroids being handled by students all around the school.

Apparently sniffer dogs were brought to the school and they had to smell all the schoolbags. I don't know what happened to the people who were caught, because she didn't tell me.

Mahogaburg is going downhill I can tell you that now. I didn't tell my friend that because I didn't want to make her feel rotten for the faults of the others.

But back to the subject of Cameron, there's something about her that makes me feel strange. Maybe its because her blood tastes sweeter than any other human I've tasted. But, what I'm feeling doesn't involve the sense of taste. I'm feeling something else, but I don't know what...

Yeah yeah, go ahead and say it's love or whatever you wish, but I highly doubt that's the case.

I also have a feeling she is playing hard to get, just to capture my attention. That's kinda cute but not a good step in getting me interested. I'm not saying I like to have an easy pickup or anything. But I'd prefer at least a slight chance.

If someone is going to remain completely ominous to me, I might as well not take interest in them.

She is really short for her age. But me, being 9 feet and her only being 4 feet, as I have calculated, is kind of awkward.

I guess after drawing blood from her hand, I reckoned that I better help her get to her next class. Just to make it up to her. I'll wait for her to meet me in the corridor, she's bound to get lost, I just know it.

First I need to get to my form class, I'm sure Cam will make it to her form class in time. I walked through the bustling corridors until I reached my form class, I sat at my desk and sighed, resting my head on my hands and staring ahead.

Mr Shaw was telling us about our daily schedule and whatever. I sighed, it was the same old thing, again and again. He told us that we were going to have maths, then biology then... I guess I stopped listening. I knew the timetable anyway.

Instead of listening any further, I kept staring ahead, and I kept thinking very hard about Cameron.

Does she really like me?

Present

As I walked through the school building, I knew Cameron would come shortly after me.

I decided to wait in the hallway where the younger furries and humans were. But also where she would see me easily.

Cameron approached me, it was really cute to see how embarrassed she was about doing so. Her little eyes were filled with so much fear.

She told me that it's Biology for her, and I know the whole place from top to bottom. And plus, the Grade 8s swap classes with us Grade 12s sometimes anyway. Although they have different subjects to us sometimes.

So its basically the Grade 8s go to Biology first while the Grade 12s go to Mathematics first. Then it swaps with Grade 8s doing Mathematics next and Grade 12s doing Biology. Every two periods we do are swapped with each other.

So I took her to her classroom and went to my Mathematics class.

Sir was being challenging today and we were working hard. Literally a couple beads of sweat rolled off my face.

When the class was over, I decided to leave early. Just to help Cameron. I'm guessing she was still probably bustling around with the other Grade 8s. She has probably made a couple friends too by now.

I looked over the crowd of youngsters and didn't see her. Where did she go? Maybe she's still in the classroom. If not, I'm pretty sure she hasn't gone far. But I'm also just hoping she just made it to her class.

Someone walked past me. She was in my class, Grade 12. Her name was Issabella Konasine, but she preferred to just be called Izzy. As you can tell by her surname, her ancestry is obviously Asian, but she doesn't look so Asian herself.

She brushed past my shoulder as if she was in a hurry, but there was a wide grin on her pale cheeks.
Now here are a few details about Izzy..

She has fiery red hair that rolls down her shoulders like flaming waterfall all the way down to her lower back.

She has dark brows and golden eyes with long black lashes. I swear, she is a gorgeous human to behold.

Once she sent me a love letter, she had written a beautiful poem on it and signed it, as well as kissing it and leaving a blood red lipstick mark on it.

Izzy often has blood red lipstick delicately placed on her lips. She usually wears striped jerseys and jeans. Almost all the time she is just smiling, yet this smile was testing my suspicion this time..

Ok, I need to snap out of it, Erin. Focus.

Now something is going on... I can feel it. Something bad is going on.

I nervously stroke my index finger down the stitches lining exactly vertically down my face, relaxing myself a bit.

I walked in the direction that Izzy had come from. Rather strange; why did she go this way?

Just by following her human scent, I traced every corner she turned, every step she walked and every breath she took. (If you are wondering, she took 172 steps, 214 breaths and turned 8 corners.)

I found myself at the entrance of the school supply room. How peculiar, why on earth would someone be here? There's no classes and plus it is restricted for everyone except the staff members.

Oh well, I still stared long and hard at the door, utterly confused. I heard breathing on the other side. Breathing from two people.
I decided to investigate.
