Erin lunged forward before he suddenly stopped, his sharp whiskers brushing my cheeks. I could feel his hot breath hitting my face as his mouth was right there and it scared the heck out of me. I look at him, he looks back.
He slowly leaned back and shut his mouth, now just staring at me with yellow eyes. He looked like he had just started gaining real life again.
His fur was still dark though and he still had many rows of teeth and long, piercing talons. He put me down on my feet and I winced slightly.
I look up at him, completely shocked, but I felt a seed of warmth sprout in my heart, followed by relief and then a smile. I thought he was going to kill me! Oh, Erin! I knew it was him!
I lean forward and hug him, I start crying with joy. Erin looks over at Rocky.
Rocky hadn't fainted at least, but she was still angry and was lying on her back. She was still trying to stop the bleeding from her throat.
Erin walks to Rocky and crouches at her side.
"G-Get away from me!" Rocky choked. She tried to crawl away but was too weak to do so.
Erin smiled slightly and picked up Rocky. Rocky was furious and started kicking at the air, but she was still too weak for the kicks to be effective.
Erin sighed in annoyance as he brushed his hand against Rocky's neck again, this time, somehow healing her neck, but the blood remained. There was a pale scar on her neck.
Rocky breathed deeply as Erin put her down."Let's get out of here..." Erin walked to a wall and stood in front of it while facing it.
Rocky and I follow him. Until Erin jumps up and runs up the wall to an open window, then sitting on the window sill looking down at us. Rocky and I just exchanged baffled looks.
How in the heck are we going to do that? We can't just run up the wall like hooligans, I might as well gnarl up my other hand in the process.
In the light he still looked nightmarish, but with a better look I could see his hair was ruffled and it looked like he had no eyes.
Just empty ripped eye sockets that were pure black with two yellow glowing pupils. His mouth was ripped wider as if it were cut that way by a knife, or just torn as if he had open his mouth too wide. His whiskers were longer and crooked, like metal wires.
What's more his teeth looked even more dangerous than they did in the dark. His ears were longer and fluffier as well as his tail. I could swear I could see some bone showing on his arms.
Rocky and I exchange looks. How the heck did he do that? Get up there AND become a nightmarish phantom?
Erin huffs and hops down again. He picks up Rocky by the scruff of her shirt in his jaws. She looks shocked as Erin ran up the wall again and put her on the window sill. Then Erin hops down and does the same to me.
Soon, all three of us were on the window sill.
I could never thank him so much. Who cares if we literally bunked the whole class. We were saved.
Saved by The Reaper.
My Reaper...
Ah shut up Cam, right now we need to get back to the story, why the heck am I comparing a big blue cat to The Reaper?
Anyway, we climb down from the window. Well, Erin hauled us down into the corridor outside the Supply Room.
Rocky seemed to be glaring at Erin with pure hatred. Erin ignored that.
Erin also started shifting back to his average form. Soft, cool fur with beautiful blue eyes. The wide mouth seemed to heal back to normal and his second row of teeth slipped back into his gums.
His face softens completely. His fur went all sleek and smooth.
He was Erin.
Just at that moment the bell rings for break time (or known as recess in some places?). That meant Rocky, Erin and I missed a whole class!
Then, what seemed like a billion kids and furries raced around the corridors. All shouting and excited. All grabbing lunch boxes with food or running off to the tuck shop with money, then running off outside.
Oh poo now I wish I was in that quiet supply room again...
Then, during all the craze, we hear a voice, "Mr Kitty!"
A girl with brown curly hair and baby blue eyes, about 15 years old, runs out through the huge crowd directly to Erin, then jumping up and hugging him. She looked like a koala hanging onto a tree branch. Erin hugs her back and chuckles.
Rocky and I exchange looks again. But there was something in my eyes that weren't in Rocky's...
Jealousy.
How come Erin never hugs me like that?
Erin puts the girl down, then looking at us. Well, right through us, knowing exactly what we were thinking. Even seeing my jealousy and probably answering my question.
He rests a hand on my shoulder, with a constant grin on his face.
"This is my cousin. Her name is Ella. El for short..." Erin says.Oh thank goodness they were cousins, that cat is mine... I was thinking to myself, all the while staring at Ella.
I should really zip it, it's not like we live in Texas or anything.
Ella was smiling brightly at literally everything.
No seriously...
EVERYTHING!
She looked like the friendly type that would never backstab you. Her face was cheerful.
Ella grabs Erin by his wrist and runs outside, giggling with a cute, bubbly giggle.
"Come Mr Kitty! Lets go outside!" Ella squealed at him.
Rocky and I hastily follow Ella and Erin.
