Plastic Promises

Jason stares at Haleson. Haleson stares at Alice. Alice stares at Haleson and Jason. "If you would just-"

"No."

"Please reconsider."

"No."

That's the conversation between them. Hale trying to widdle information out of Alice, Alice denying them of it. The boss watches, almost dying of a frustrated laughter at this point. Not sure if he should be angry of impressed at the stubbornness (determination) Alice exhibits. The clock ticks away. Jason stares at Haleson. Alice stares at Jason. Haleson stares at Alice. After a few more minutes of this game, Alice gets an idea. "If i give you a fresh rose, will you lwave me alone?" she says. Her speaking startles the two adults and they blink at her. Haleson looks to Jason, Jason looks at Haleson. "We'll have to see about that. You sit tight." Hale sats finally before her and Jason leave the room. Alice smiles secretly and kicks her legs back and forth, singing softly. A few minutes later, the duo come back with their boss.

"Hello there, little one. I'm detective Roberts. Nice to meet you Alice." he says as he sits down, extending a hand to Alice. "If I give a fresh rose, will you leave me alone?" Alice says, straight to the point. Roberts looks at her in surprise before shrugging a bit. "It depends. Is the rose going to be a match to the one at the crime scene? Listen kid. Just tell us the location of where you found the rose. That's all we need from you." he replies. Alice shakes her head and crosses her arms. Roberts sigjs and looks at her. Then he notices the file on the table. "You haven't seen the crime that was done to Thomas, did you? He was mirdered very brutally and if we don't catch this person, they could strike again." he says, trying to win her over. Alice however just stares blankly at him. The man sighs and pulls the file over, opening it and taking out some pictures that show the dead body of Thomas. Then he pushes them over to Alice.

"This is what the person did. This is what he/she do again if we them." he says. Alice stares at the pictures before looking up at the man. "My offer still stands. Fresh rose, leave me alone." she says shortly before pushing the pictures back to him. Robbers' eyes widen and he looks back to Haleson and Jason in surprise. The two stare back at him with similar looks before Roberts turns back to Alice. "Fine. New rose. But no promises that we'll always leave you alone." Alice shrugs and gets up, standing on the chair and sticking a hand out. "Close enough. Shake on it." The man stares at her in confusion before he shakes her hand. Alice nods to herself, smirking, before hopping off the chair and walking out the door. "...wait a minute. Did we just make a deal, and were admittedly outwitted, by an eight year old child?" Roberts says, stunned. "It would seem so sir." Haleson amd Jason reply in unison. "Huh....Never thought I'd see the day. Anyway, let's get back to work." Roberts says and they all leave the room.

Alice walks to her mom and together, they leave the station, hand in hand. "What did the police people say?" Jane askes, a smile on her face. Alice shurgs and stares out the window," We made a deal. I provide a fresh rose, they leave me alone for now. That simple." Jane looks worriedly at Alice through the rear-view mirror. "Well alight then. If you says so. Oh! I almost forgot! I have to stop by the supermarket to get some things. Can you help me call your father to let him know where we are?" Jane says, smiling a but. Alice frowns and gets out her phone, unlocking it and going to call the one labled as 'male human'. After the phonw call, she sets her phone down and stares outside the window, watching the scene fly by.

Once they get to tje store, Jane holds her hand and leads her in, getting a cart on the way in. "Okay, first thing we need-" Alice stops listening to what she's saying at that point. Choosing instead to look around and taking everything in. 'Well well well, if it isn't dear old principal. Stalker mode activate.' Alice thinks to herself before looking back to her mother, who is destracted by the list and checking the food for which ones to get, before dashing off to follow her school principal around. She watches as the man laughs with his wife and daughter, being happy with them and all in all enjoying himself. "Alice. There you are." Jane says, walking up to the little girl. Alice's eye twitches before she turns around and looks up and her mother,"Right. Sorry, I got...lost." she says. Jane smiles and pats her head,"It's okay. It's time to go anyway, I have everything that I need anyway." She then takes Alice's hand and walks them to the check out place.
