You smile at a girl on the playground
Your stomach is in knots
But you don't know why
Besides, girls have cooties
So you walk on by
6 7 8 9 10
Cooties are a myth
You see that now
You hold some girl's hand
And laugh as you run along
Down the sidewalk going home

You have your first kiss
Your heart pounds out of your chest
It feels like a heart attack
But greater than anything else
It could've been more
But you were just too scared

Here we are
Now you have become me
And I wait tragically for love to be
Time and time I fall to my knees
Only to be used by girls who can't see
The pain they inflict
I am not a man driven by physical pursuits
I am a man impassioned by emotional cues
Searching for something above the noise and squalor
But she
Is just a girl with too much time
Spending it with one would be a crime
Why should she waste it on me
When she can use it on many
But still I will wait
And I will never hate
The girls who have broken my heart
For they are merely a part
Of my path written as a song
When all the past is wrong
SHE will stand beside me
And appear to love and guide me
And at last I will sing my part
