(Lilly POV)
I woke up to an ear piercing scream it echoed through the silent night I looked over to Johnny he was staring at the sky with tears falling down his face I don't know what to do he must've had a nightmare.
"Johnny what happened?" I asked after minutes of silence.
Johnny immediately wiped his eyes "nothing I'm ok nothing happened" I went over and hugged him
"It's ok what was it" I asked as I wiped away some new tears that started to form.
"I know why not many people are around" he answered " my dad he was a great scientist he knew a lot about everything but he mostly knew about astronomy when the atmosphere was collapsing he took me to a safe place to wait for him I watched TV screens one that showed the atmosphere another the rockets blasting off and the last were green dots of people still on earth when they died they turned red. ... My dad told me over the speaker he was coming to get me minutes later the atmosphere collapsed all the dots except two went red ..." He paused holding back tears. I tightened my hug "I wanted so bad for it to be my dad but it was you" he smiled"I can't help but think if it wasn't for me my dad would be up there safe with my mom and my little sister she was pregnant but because he went back for me he's gone" He struggled with the last sentence bursting into tears and hiding his face with his hands tears spilled out between his fingers. I rub his back when suddenly he pulls away
"I'm sorry ... I can't my dad said to be strong that was all he wanted from me and I can't even do that for him!" Johnny cried while running off into the woods.
"Johnny ... Johnny it's ok come back .. Johnny!" My voice echoed but there was no answer "Johnny!"
