(Johnny POV)
"Johnny stay here the atmosphere is collapsing I have to go make sure we can get a rocket look over here this screen shows the atmosphere and these green dots are all the alive people once they die the light turns red and this one over here shows all the rockets blasting off. Once we have a rocket I will come back to get you I will call on the speaker you can use this to answer back just hold the green button. And over here is food in case you get hungry." My dad said handing me something that looked like a Walkie talkie.
"Dad I'm scared" I cried after him he turned back and set me in the chair in front of the screens
" I know it's ok I need you to be strong don't worry I'll be back I promise" he said pulling me into a hug and kissing my cheek
"I promise" he whispered so faintly I barely heard it but it was there he ran out locking the door behind him giving me one last smile. I stared at the screen his words echoed through my head 'I promise' I stared at the screens the atmosphere had bluish purplish streaks going in all different directions and appearing on different spots of the world pulling it down closer to the earth when his voice came over the speakers " I'm on my way" I held down the green button and answered " alright." I watched what seemed like the hundredth rocket blast off into space I always wanted to go into space it was my dream to be an astronaut and in a couple of minutes I will blast off and live my dream. I wonder how Jasmines doing she's my best friend I hope she is on a rocket waiting for me in space. There was a loud boom that almost knocked me out of the chair I looked at the atmosphere screen it was now covered in bluish purplish streaks and the atmosphere was sent flying from the earth I looked at the life screen and all the dots immediately turned red except for two me and hopefully my dad. Pain surge over my skin like hot oil was poured over me I fell to my knees crying thinking stay awake stay strong just wait a little longer for dad to come back.My insides felt as they were boiling I fell to the ground I tried to get up but I couldn't my bones felt heavy like bricks I couldn't move I was pinned to the ground tears rolled down my face and I was sweating. The pain started to subside then as soon as it left it came back harder than before I couldn't take it anymore I let out a blood curdling scream as the world turned black and my body went limp.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" I jerked awake my voice echoed around me. I couldn't help but think it was my fault my dad died if it wasn't for me he would've been on a rocket and up in space safe I look up to the sky as tears stung my eyes.
"Johnny what happened?"
