Marry the Crown Prince?

"Here's some hot tea. Let's drink." I offered, smiling at him.

"Thank you." He replies. "Ah, Mirajane?"

"Yes?"

"Do you have feelings for the Crown Prince?"

"Huh? Why do you ask?"

"I was just thinking that. You're always with him."

"The Crown Prince is a handsome man, but I believe there's already someone in my heart." I admitted. His eyes widened like my words surprised him.

"Really? Then who is it? I've supposed you had not been with someone else."

"But I had been."

"Who?"

"You." I answer. We've been through so much, Hyun Min and I. Even though he shows different personalities, I grew to like him.

"How about the Crown Prince?" he asks.

"How about him? We're just friends."

The scholar bows his head and says, "It's different for the Crown Prince."

"What do you mean by that?"

But before he could say anything, the door of my room opens. "Mirajane, the Crown Prince is summoning for you."

"Is it now?"

"Yes, this instant."

I anxiously glance back to the scholar. "Let's finish our conversation next time. I have to go." And so I went, leaving the scholar alone in my room.

When I finally reached the palace, I'm led to the Crown Prince's room. As soon as I enter it, I give him my respect.

"Thank you for coming, lady Mirajane."

"Your welcome, your Majesty. How are you?"

"I'm fine."

"Your Majesty, why did you suddenly asked of me here?" I gave him a smile as I asked this.

"I just wanted to see you."

I'm at a loss of words.

"And also, I want you to accompany me for my archery training today."

"As you wish, your Majesty."

We set off to the widest place of the palace. It is similar to a court in my era but this one is far too spacious. A table was placed there and when we walk closer, I see that it displays a set of arrows and a crossbow. The Crown Prince begins the sport; his target is the rounded wood that stands on the other side of the yard. I stand on the side, silently watching the Crown Prince.

"You did very well, your Majesty." I said, praising his skill.

"Thank you."

There's silence for a while until he spoke again.

"I've done stalling, lady Mirajane, the truth of the matter is that I want you as my lover."

"Your Majesty?!" I asked in surprise and he turned to face me directly.

"What you heard is correct. I wish to marry you." He tells me. He's so serious right now, unlike the previous days when he always smiles at me.

"But, your Majesty..."

"I love you, lady Mirajane. This is the first time I've had interest with a woman, and you're the most unique out of all I've met before. I am always happy whenever I'm with you and I have earned a lot of things with the things you had shared. To be with you for the rest of my life; that is what I desire the most."

"I'm sorry, your Majesty. But that can't be." I bow my head as to hide my face.

"Forgive me, lady Mirajane, but I believe that this is not a request from the Crown Prince. It is an order."

My eyes sought his. The way he said those words in a stern way makes me anxious, it is so unlike the man I've been with before. A sudden fear fills my whole body.

"I will have my guards and escort you go back to the Gisaeng house, but after two days, you're to move here in the palace so that you can prepare for our marriage."

No words came to my mouth during those moments and when I finally went back to the Gisaeng house, I saw the many gisaeng ladies looking at me and they're all seems so very happy.

One of them greets me. "Congratulations, Mirajane. I was not wrong for I've always known that the Crown Prince really likes you!" she cheerily said. I give her a sweet smile but after going inside my room, the tears blurred my sight and falls without control.

What is happening? I don't understand, why is the Crown Prince acting like this? I should be happy, right? Yet I don't feel the need of it. I don't wish to marry the Crown Prince...
