Days passed and it is now the harvest day celebration. A great feast for the masses is placed, just as expected. I'm sitting next to the Crown Prince and together, we watch the dancing gisaeng ladies.
"They dance so well, right Mirajane?"
"Yes, your Majesty. These gisaeng were all talented." I answered.
I often glance up at the sky and when dusk falls, I make up my mind and bravely ask for permission from the Crown Prince.
"Your Majesty, I wish to take a walk and get some air on the gardens, if you give me your consent."
"Do you want me to accompany you?"
"There is no need. I'll be back soon." I reassured him with a smile.
"Alright, my princess. I'll wait for you."
I stand and lowered my head to the Crown Prince. I didn't waste any more of my time and directly go straight to the back gate that Hyun Min tells me about. When I arrived there, I see no person lingering in the area, and I cannot see Hyun Min's presence too. I pace back and forth, and wait.
After some time, someone calls out to me from the other side of the gate.
"Mirajane! Open the gate."
I whipped around and saw the scholar's head on top of the brick wall, looking at me. Immediately, I opened the gate.
Hyun Min approaches me. "We can now go. There's a horse waiting outside for us to use."
I am so happy that I can finally leave the palace grounds and just be with the scholar. I held him close to me which took him by surprise.
"W-we should go." He stammers.
As I face the back gate of the palace, ready to escape, another voice made me stop.
"Mirajane!"
The Crown Prince is there, standing and calling my name from the other side of the area. The scholar grabbed my arm and pulled me away. We started running but I can't help it, I looked back.
"Mirajane! Please wait. Where are you going?" The Crown Prince ran and tries so hard to catch up. He shouts for the guards. "Guards, follow them! Don't let them get away!"
"Mirajane, give me your hand, quick!" said the scholar. I did and he helped me get up so I could ride the horse.
Looking back again, this time I see that there are so many pursuing the both of us and one of them is the Crown Prince himself, still yelling my name. "Mirajane!"
We were able to distance ourselves from the sight of the palace guards and the Crown Prince. We stopped in front of a river bank.
"Here, Mirajane, we need to ride a boat so we can be able to cross this river and to the other side."
"Ah, yes...yes." He lowers me to the ground. We aren't still boarding the small boat when caught sight of a guard.
"Here they are, your Majesty!" the guard shouted.
"Don't let them escape!" answered the Crown Prince.
Because of this, the scholar Hyun Min and I begun running away again, he's holding my hand tightly so that he can't leave me.
"MIRAJANE!" yells the Crown Prince just as I stepped on a rock and stumble down.
