Max
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Oh my god I'm so sorry!!!" Every part of my body was crumbling; I had ruined everything. Chance was straight! I buried my face in my hands, trembling violently. The sparks that had traveled across my skin like an electric shock made every part of me sting. The kiss was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I looked up again, through the tears I saw Chance sitting, still motionless with the same look of horror on his face. I curled back into fetal position, I was never going to move again.
Hours seemed to pass, and Chance didn't move. I stopped shaking, but the tears kept flowing down my cheeks. And then I felt arms wrap around my body. Large arms, which enveloped me in a warm, comforting hug. I felt myself melt into his arms. Chance and I sat that way for a very long time, Chance's head resting on my shoulder. When he let me go, I met his gaze.
A single tear rolled down his cheek, "It's okay Max."
"But-"
"It's okay."
And I believed him. "What just...?"
"I don't know," he looked away, "but I need some time to think about it, okay?"
I nodded, "Okay."
"Come on, let's get inside, it's dark." He helped me up and we went inside, to our separate rooms.
