It was dark. Really dark. I stepped out of my room and turned the nightlight in the hallway off. I clicked on my flashlight and aimed it at the key rack. I grabbed my keys and shut the door behind me. I was wearing a Hollister t-shirt, with a black hoodie. I had on black leggings, and my combat boots. I was ready. I am officially a sneaker-outerer. No longer a good little girl. Yet I was nervous…I had never snuck out before…what if I got caught?

I had stuffed my bed with pillows, and left my door slightly ajar, so they wouldn’t grow suspicious. I’d have to be home before daylight.

I hesitated whilst opening my car. When I unlock it, it’ll make too much noise, and so will the engine…I sighed. I would have to walk to and from there.

I put my hair up into a messy ponytail, and put my hood up. I shivered as I walked into the cold air. In my pocket I had pepper spray, and a pocket knife.

I’m not planning on get almost-raped again. It sucks, every time.

I can’t believe The Mist wants to see me…

When I got there, the weather had cleared, and it had gotten warmer. I took the stairs at the side of the clock tower, I trudged up the stairs, silent cursing out the Mist for making me do this much physical activity.

When I reached the top of the building I took in my surroundings. Over by wall edge I saw The Mist, in all his glory. His muscular body deflecting the strong gusts of wind making him look extra yummy. His hands were on his hips, and his eyes were skimming over the sleeping town. I walked over to him, and I lightly tapped his shoulder. He swiftly turned, and had me against the wall in a second.

My breath hitched in my throat, as we had a staredown. His eyes were burning into mine, with an unknown passion. We stood staring for another minute.

He smiled, tucked a loose strand of my hair back.

I shivered with his touch and he stepped away from me, to my great disappointment.

At the same time we both spoke.

“Why did you call me?” “How’d you find me?”

“Me, found you?” “Me call you?”

I scowled, we both kept speaking at the same time and it began to get annoying.

“I never called you? I don’t even know who you are…” I finally spoke.  My heart felt heavy when I saw his eyes turn sorrowful.

“Oh… then, uh. What are we doing here?” The Mist spoke, his heavy voice laced with disappointment.

All off a sudden, the Mist got a stricken expression on his face.

“Whaa-? “ I began. But was stopped when The Mist grabbed me and jumped off the edge of the building.

I screamed and squeezed my eyes shut as the air around me swirled and hit me with a force.

I heard a loud boom and when I opened my eyes I saw that the clock tour, that we were on, just seconds ago…had blown up.

I looked down and saw we were still floating in the air. The Mist had a tight hold on me, he gripped me with so much force, I whimpered.

He released his hold and snickered, I released a breath that I didn’t know I was holding as I felt the ground connect with my feet once again.

“SOMEONE, ALMOST FREAKIN BLEW US UP.” I said, as I regained my energy.

“Hold on, princess.” The Mist said, trying to shut me up. But he wasn’t about to stop me from my rant this time.

“WE ALMOST DIED”. I screamed at him.

“But we didn’t?” Replied the Mist, with a smirk forming on his brilliantly hot, yet evil face.

“We could have, we were this close to dying” I spread my arms widely and continued, “THIS FLUFFFING CLOSE. We could have been part of that explosion, I can’t believe you’d be that irresponsible, you should’ve known that would’ve happened, you know I’m prone to danger, and it doesn’t help when you’re distracting me with your, godforsaken sexy face.” I clamped my hand on my mouth at the last line. Oh fudge.

“Ahhh...  So I see my hotness hasn’t gone by unnoticed.” He said, smiling an impish smile.

“Hey, don’t let it go to your head, you’re already full of yourself as it is, and stop smiling like that, it distracts me.” I turned on my heel and faced the opposite side, adding in a sigh for extra exaggeration.

He wrapped his hands around waist and set his chin on my shoulder. The warmth was comforting, but my word wasn’t going to go unsaid this time, I struggled against him, trying to free myself from his hold.

“Stop struggling, I know you like how this feels.” He whispered into my ear.

I stopped struggling and loosened up. I let out another breath, when none of us spoke.

I turned around and faced him.

“Who are you?” I said, with a newfound boldness.

“Zachary Lorde.” He responded curtly. With a hint of a smile playing on his features.

I peeled off his mask and connected my lips with his.

At first he didn’t respond, but suddenly his lips caught up with mine, he lightly set his hands on my waist and began kissing me with more passion. I kissed him back, with as much force as I could muster.

I could honestly say that this was the best kiss I’ve ever had. Matthew couldn’t compete.

We pulled away and I looked into his sparkling blue eyes. He looked just as dazed as I’m sure I looked.

“I doubt your little boyfriend could compete with that.” He said, with a slight wink.

I groaned, and brushed his hands off of me. “I knew you couldn’t stay sweet for long”… I retorted.

“Hey, I’m sweet?” He argued, feigning a look of hurt.

I gave him a glare. Which was really hard to do, considering, I wanted to melt to the floor and just stay there forever. He KISSED ME. I KISSED HIM. WE KISSED! Is all that was going through my head.

“Let’s go”, he said whilst grabbing my hand, “I’m in the mood for ice-cream, how about you princess?”

“Are you crazy? We should be figuring out what happened back there??” I said, panicking.

“Yeah, you’re right… We’ll discuss it over ice-cream!” He said, with a boyish smile,
