It was dark. Really dark. I shouldn’t have snuck out. But I did. Walking down the desolate road with nothing but the sound of leaves rushing through the streets, and the icy wind that smacked me across my face multiple times, I couldn’t help but feel happy. I love being free. I love freedom. I fucking love it.

I was drunk beyond repair, after the game I had been at the after-party. It was hosted at my friend Ron’s house. I couldn’t drive home, so I walked. Stupid right? Well nothings stupid when you’re drunk. Everything’s just…Happy.

Everything was swarming; I had to squint to see clearly. The alcohol was wearing off, and I could finally see where I was going. When I got to my front door, I quietly let myself in…tiptoeing in.

I checked up on my little sister’s bed. She had her teddy bear enclosed in her arms. He brown hair was matted to her face and streams of dried tears were at the corners of her eyes.

She was sick. Very sick. She had a tumor, which had spreaded and she was just beginning her treatment. My family took her to the best hospitals, the best doctors, and soon she’ll be just fine.

I kissed her forehead and pulled her hair back from her face. I love her so much.

I smiled when she turned over to her side and resumed her light snoring. I trudged into my room and was about to lay down, when I heard a scream from my parents room. I ran through the hallway and opened the door, only to find dead silence.

I searched the entire room but found no trace of anyone. My parents weren’t there.

Before I saw it, I smelled the gasoline and ashes. There was a fire downstairs. I heard things imploding and exploding. I heard glass shattering and I heard the evil cackling of the fire. I ran into my sisters room and grabbed her I dragged her through the house. One of our pillars fell against the side of the living room and I heard a high pitched scream. I kept running.

By the time I was outside, back in the cold. My breath came out in shallow heaves. And I looked up to see my house burn down, right before me.

I looked down to see my sister, but all I saw was her teddy bear clutched in my hand.

I looked up horrified, searching desperately.

“Hannah!” I shouted, fighting the tears. “Hannah! Mom! Dad!” I kept shouting until my voice was hoarse. I crumbled to the floor and screamed out in agony. Suddenly I caught movement upstairs. It was my sister’s bloody face smeared against a window.

I awoke with a jump. And sat up in my bed. My hair was matted against my face and sweat was trickling down. Sweaty moisture was covering every inch of my body and tears were threatening to spill.

I wiped my face with my hands and ran over into the restroom. I slapped cool water onto my face and looked into the mirror. I shouldn’t be alive. I should’ve died along with them.

I shut my eyes and clenched my fists. When I opened them again I whipped my hand across the mirror, shattering both the glass, and cutting through my skin.

I groaned and winded my hand up to hit the other side of the mirror. As the mirror crumbled away, shattering onto the hotel floor I felt content. Not the good kind, but the sick kind.

I grabbed my suit and changed into it, running out into the streets I whipped my hand across multiple cars, shattering them with force. Alarms bleeped, and lights from houses flickered on.

Sweat and tears poured down my face. I shut my eyes and leaned against a wall. I was a mess.

I heard a high-pitched scream and ran into the alley beside me. In it was a girl, possibly in her 20’s held up against a wall with a very drunk looking man. He had her hands in her shirt and was about to tear it, when I came in. I grabbed the guys hand and twisted it. He screamed out in pain as I twisted it, I heard the bones popping, and his nerves near his temples bulging but I didn’t stop. He fell to the floor writhing in pain, I kicked him multiple times, to the point where his head was bulging and blood was trickling down his body.

The girl looked at me with terrified eyes and bolted out of there.

“Fuck!” I yelled as I slammed my fist into the wall.

Blackness swarmed around me, and I tried to steady myself. I clenched my jaw, trying to rid myself of the hostile feeling pulsing through me.

I saw pink from the corner of my eye, and suddenly Pink-laser came into focus. I turned swiftly and walked the opposite way.

I kept my pace up until I got to an old wine and alcohol shop. I unlocked the lock by pressing my thumb against the metal until it fell to the ground uselessly. I walked in and grabbed a drink. I took the whole bottle and walked out.

I had drunk half of the bottle before I set it down on the concrete, and slid down. My eyes were brimming with tears. And I had to fight to stay awake.

While I was sitting I felt someone sit right next to me. I didn’t see anyone, I felt it.

I turned to see PL, looking at me with worry in her eyes. I looked away and chugged a few more sips of the drink.

“What do you want?” I asked. My voice wavering at the end.

“I-I saw what you did to the man. It wasn’t real nice of you.” She commented, looking away when I brought my gaze back up to her.

“Yeah, So? I’m not a hero remember?” I said, sarcastically reminding her of her own words.

“I, really didn’t-uh mean to say that. You seem like a cool guy and all. And uh, I’m sorry for earlier. It’s just real hard to trust just anyone, and I thought you were cocky so I kind of chose to hate you.” She said, as her cheeks warmed up and she looked back into my eyes.

Looking at her flustered face, and her blonde waves moving with the wind, I couldn’t help but just stare at her.

“So uh, forgive me?” She said, her cheeks returning to their natural shade.  At that point I took another swig of my drink, and finished it in one take. I looked at her, and I couldn’t help but have lust fill my eyes.

I gripped her waist and pulled her onto my lap. And I kissed her. I moved my lips against her cold ones, and soon enough she responded. The kiss felt surreal and I couldn’t help but enjoy it. Suddenly she jerked away and slapped me across my cheek. She stood up and looked away.

My cheek was stinging like hell. I couldn’t meet her gaze and kept looking to the floor.

When I looked back up, she was nowhere to be found. Out of the corner of my eye I saw movement. But it went away as fast as it came.

Fuck. What did I just do?
