I shielded Ezra's small frame from the flying glass and debris. Once all the banging and crashing had stopped, I stood from the crouched position I had taken on the floor. I looked around our living room that was now more like a garage.
There was a gaping hole where the car had driven through the wall. The furniture that laid near that wall was now in pieces and definitely ruined.
"Ellie," River shouted. "Are you okay?"
"Yes. I am fine." I remarked as he and Finn climbed over the mess to come towards me.
"No you're not. Your side is bleeding." He finally said as he took Ezra from my arms.
"Well lookie there..." In my abdomen there was a shard of glass sticking out.
"Come sit down." This time it was Finn speaking.
"Where the hell am I supposed to sit down? We don't have a couch anymore." I said while motioning to the broken sofa.
Somehow I had made my way to the kitchen with the help of River, and was waiting for him to pull out the shard.
"I can't do it.." He grumbled. I had come to find out that he was not very good with blood, especially mine.
"It is not that hard," I quickly yanked the glass and set it on the table. "See, it's not that hard. I'm already healing." He could be such a wuss at times. A few pack warriors had shown up and were recovering the body from the car and scavenging through the ruble for any clues.
As the body was pulled from the car, I finally saw that it was Josh, a young boy from the pack. In the beginning of my time here, Josh and his friends had made me feel welcome and helped me adapt to pack life. They couldn't be in on this could they?

It had been three days since the accident and today was Josh's funeral. As Alpha and Luna, River and I were required to go to all pack member's funerals.
"River are we bringing Ezra?" I was currently standing in front of the mirror in our room straightening the black dress I was wearing.
"No. Katherine is going to watch him," River spoke as he walked towards me. "Can you help me with my tie?" I rolled my eyes and let a small smile grace my face.
"What would you do without me?"
"Honestly I don't know."

The funeral was.. well it was a funeral. Tears were shed and hugs were given. Watching two adults bury their sixteen year-old son was pretty hard. People spoke about their fondest memories of Josh and how his life was ended way to soon.
I sat quietly in the first row, next to River and Josh's parents. His mother cried almost the whole time, and I felt like this was partly my fault. If I had just gone to Craig, in the first place, this fight would not have just taken the life of an innocent teenager.
'Stop thinking like that,' River spoke through our mind link. 'It's not your fault that your stepfather is a crazy- ass lunatic.' I gave him a small smile and thanked him.
Before I knew it I was walking home ready to see my baby boy again, after the long day I had just had. I knocked on the door of Katherine's small cabin. Johnathan however opened the door. "Hello." He spoke to me, while holding my child in his arms. An angry expression appeared on my face as I saw that Jonathan was not in any clothes except for his underwear.
"Give me back my baby." Slowly he placed Ezra into my arms. "I had a nice night with my grandson." Jonathan remarked as I was walking away.
"Good. It was probably the last time I'll ever leave you alone with him," I was furious, and I didn't really care about how much of a bitch I sounded like. "Oh I hoped you used protection." And then I sauntered off, leaving a shocked Jonathan at the doorway.
When I got back home, I put Ezra in his crib, since he had already fallen asleep while I was walking home. Then I went to find River. Like always he was in his office.
"I am so done.." I grumbled, as I collapsed on the couch he had in his office.
"What happened? I can feel your emotions through the link." River spoke with a concerned look on his face.
"Jonathan opened the door in his underwear." I sighed.
"Okay?" River questioned. I sat up and gave him a look.
"Ewww... How are you so sure. He could have just gotten out of the shower." River sounded hopeful but that was about to change.
"I could smell the arouse from outside the door."
"Gross. So instead of babysitting our child, Katherine and Jonathan slept together?"
"Yep." I said while pooping the 'p'. They are both officially off the babysitting list.
