Riley's P.O.V.

The bright light that shines into my room wakes me from my peaceful slumber. When I say peaceful, I mean it, this is the best sleep I have gotten since I can't even remember. I roll over expecting to find a warm muscular body lying next to me, but instead my arm lands on more bed. I sit up and rub the sleep from my eyes and when I look down at the empty space beside me a certain emptiness begins to arise in my heart. He just...left? I feel tears prick my eyes as the familiar feeling of being used by him once again comes back.

I am mad at myself for even giving him another chance. I bury my head into the pillow and begin screaming profanities while I smack it as hard as I can with my right hand. "How could I be so stupid?? I should have known this was going to happen." I scream into the pillow, making it come out as more of a muffled shout. Tears pour from my eyes uncontrollably, "Why would-"

"Uh...maybe I should just come back later?" I nearly fall off my bed when I hear the familiar voice that can only belong to him. When I pull my tearstained face from the pillow and stare at him surprised, he has a massive grin on his face while he holds two cups of coffee from Betty's Coffee house in each hand. Guilt instantly takes over my feelings as I stare at him in shock and embarrassment. I try to gather up an explaination for my psychotic behavior a moment ago.

I quickly wipe the wetness from my face, "I-I thought..." I begin to say trying to regain composure. I don't even know how to explain this, it's not like I can say 'I thought you used me for sex and then dumped me like yesterday's trash'. Though that is what I want to say because that is exactly how I felt. I see humor in his eyes, which is soon replaced by hurt once he realises why I was so upset. This is not how I wanted this morning to go. He sets the cups down on my desk before walking over to me. He moves me off of the bed so I am standing directly in front of him, face to face.

With his finger and thumb he takes my chin and tilts it up so I have no choice but to look him in the eyes. "Do you not understand my feelings for you?" he whispers, fanning my face with his minty breath. I close my eyes, and inhale deeply, waiting for my rapidly beating heart to calm down. I open and close my mouth in an attempt to speak but it's quickly hushed by his angelic lips. My eyes widen at the sudden contact, but I soon recover and return the kiss with just as much passion.

He holds my face in both of his hands as he kisses me hard. Our lips move in sync as I wrap my arms around his waist to pull him closer to me. He continues to hold me in place, as if I am going to run away if he lets go. "I would never leave you Riley." He whispers against my lips. He kisses the corner of my mouth and then my nose before resting his forehead against mine. "Ever." He breathes.

I don't answer him because I am still not sure if what he is saying is the complete truth. His arms move down to my waist and gently wrap around me, pulling me tight to him, not that I mind. We do nothing but stand there in the middle of the room with our arms wrapped contently around each other. He begins to softly sway us back and forth as he hums a soothing melody and occasionally mumbles sweet nothings into my ear.

I am suddenly brought back to our eighth grade dance. I didn't have a date and for some reason none of the guys would dance with me. So Kayden pulled me onto the dance floor, with my brothers permission of course, and we danced together, just like this. I smile as I think back to that night, that was the first night I realised how much I really loved Kayden.

Kayden's P.O.V.

When she doesn't answer me I begin to feel hurt. Does she really think I would just leave her like that? I kiss her neck, then her shoulder before pulling away and taking her by the hand. I lead her down the steps and outside to my car. "Where are we going?" she asks confused, looking like an adorable lost puppy with her head slightly tilted to the side. I don't say anything as I open the door for her and she get's inside.

As we drive down the road she continues to stare at me in confusion. It's quite funny to see her get flustered like this. Our shortlived road trip comes to an end after I pull up to the curb a few blocks from her house. By the look on her face, she knows exactly where we are. We both get out and begin walking up the narrow, dirt trail. We haven't been to this place since we were thirteen, I missed it, and I knew the kid did too, which is why I brought us here.

Her eyes widen in amazement once we reach the top, she looks around at the bright green tree's that incircle us. Then, down at the white and purple flowers that cover the ground. "I forgot how beautiful this place is." she says with a smile. I stand behind her and wrap my arms around her small frame. I turn her around so she is facing me and immediately worry overcomes me as I see tears forming in her eyes.

"Please don't cry baby." I whisper, wiping the tears from her eyes. She lightly smiles, reassuring me that her tears are happy. We both sit on the soft flowers and I pull her up onto my lap. Our fingers are entangled in each others while we talk about the fun memories we've shared in this place. We laugh about the times Jace and I wouldn't let her into our 'club' when we were little. She still thinks it was because we didn't want to play with her, but really it was because I didn't want my friends to come near her. My friends were punks and she was so, is so, precious to me.

"Remember when just us two came up here when we were about eight, and we were sitting on the tree stumps? You grabbed my face and kissed me on the lips." she smiles looking over at the now rotting tree stumps. I laugh, thinking back to that memory.

"Don't forget about the part where you kicked me in the shin and ran away crying because you thought you caught cooties!" we both burst out laughing uncontrollably. She falls over on the flowers clutching her stomach.

"Then I ran to my mom and she..." she tries to finish but her laughter overcomes her.

"I remember! She said you were vaccinated by the cooties shot so you can't catch them!" We are both now doubled over in laughter. She is laughing so hard nothing is coming out and her face is beat red. I love seeing her like this with that beautiful smile plastered on her lips.

"I...I can't breathe!" she says in continuous laughter. By this time, I am just laughing because she is laughing so hard. We both catch our breath and stay laying down on the flowers. She smiles at me as she looks up at me with those captivating eyes. I reach out and touch her flawless face, sometimes I just can't believe how beautiful she is. Her cheeks are flushed and her perfect lips are a soft pink. I pull her close to me and prop myself up on my elbow so I am able to hover over her without crushing her.

I move her hair out of her face and lean down to gently touch my lips to hers. She closes her eyes as I get closer, and her head is tilted up. I hold her face in my hands and kiss her sweetly on the sides of her mouth first, she smiles and a giggle escapes her, such a beautiful sound. After kissing her nose, then her cheeks, I make my way back down to her lips and finally attach mine to hers.

Our lips move against each other slowly as we try to savour this moment. Her back arches off the flower bed, when I slide my arm underneath her to pull her closer. Her hands move up to tangle her fingers in my hair. Shit, I love it when she does that. I groan and begin peppering kisses down her neck, she moans when I land on her sweet spot. I begin sucking on it, hard, and nipping at it allowing another moan to escape her lips. I want everybody to see this mark, and know that she is in fact, mine.

We are both breathing heavily as I stare down at her. She still has her eyes closed and she looks absolutely breathtaking. Her lips are now swollen and bruised a deep red from me sucking on them. She opens her eyes sedatedly and smiles up at me. "Riley..." I tell her still captivated by her beauty. Her smile slowly fades as she realises the seriousness in my voice.

"Kayden...what's wrong?" she asks concerned. Her tiny hand reaches up to touch my face. I lean into her touch and close my eyes.

"I love you." I whisper.

She gasps...
