Kayden's P.O.V.
She looks so peaceful just laying there with her hands folded over her stomach. Her soft breaths and subtle heartbeats are what keep me going. I always think, this is it, today is the day she will come back to me. Though after a few months, you begin to lose hope...
Every now and then her lips will curve up, or her hand will twitch. Of course, that doesn't mean anything, just a reflex I guess. Nevertheless, my body still remains glued to this chair. Occasionally I'll leave for an hour or so to go home and shower, and put on fresh clothes.
My hand reaches out to interlock with Riley's. Her hands are so cold, so...lifeless. "I know you're tired baby, but you need to just hang on a little longer. You can ma-" I'm interupted by an unfamiliar doctor barging in without caution. He's followed by two other men. "Who the hell are you?" When he removes the medical mask from his face my heart sinks.
"Did you miss me cuz?" his bone chilling voice echos in the quiet hospital room. Acting on instinct, I jump out of my chair and charge towards him. Seconds later I'm falling to the floor clutching my jaw. "Uh-uh-uh...lets not get violent now." He gradually walks over to Riley's bedside. "Sit him in the chair," he orders to the same 'body guard' who broke my jaw.
I'm forced up and onto my feet, the guy drags me by my shirt and plants me in the chair. My eyes are still on the psychopath who is leaning over my love. I try to control my panting as I squirm around in the chair to break free, but it's no use. "What a lucky guy you are to have such a beautiful girl." his bruised, cracked hand stretches up to move a strand of hair behind her ears.
"Don't you touch her!!" I scream while flailing around in the chair. My anger and frustration has taken over, and nothing can stop me from killing this bastard.
"Woah! Calm down, I'm not going to hurt the poor thing." He speaks through laughter. Then his sinister grin returns and his eyes turn black. "I promise, she won't feel a thing."
"No. Please don't do this." I beg as he reaches behind Riley and takes the pillow from underneath her. "Kill me! Please just kill me, not her!" My attempt to bargain with him fails horribly.
"You see, I was thinking of doing that...but then I thought, that just takes the fun out of making you watch." He chuckles loudly as the pillow moves closer to her face.
"Don't! Please don't do this!" My body jerks around but I can't break free from their grasps. He places the pillow over her head. "No no please!!" I am unable to save her yet again. I am helpless, and forced to watch him suck the life out of my love. "Please stop! No please no!!"
"Son..."
"Please no!!"
"Son...wake up.."
"Pl-plea..." I am jolted from the same reoccuring nightmare that has been haunting me ever since we've been here. When I sit up from the uncomfortable hospital chair, my whole body is drentched in sweat. My breathing is heavy, I feel like I just escaped death. I run my fingers through my sweaty hair, attempting to gather my thoughts.
"Are you alright?" My uncle questions while standing beside me and patting my shoulder. I give him a nod, and lean back in my chair. He leaves, after explaining to me how badly he needs to shower.
The dreams never stop, and I don't think they ever will, not as long as she is still in here. But I deserve them, this is my fault that she is in here and I deserve all of the suffering that comes with it. I stand up and grab her hand, "I love you...so much." I kiss the top of her head and look down upon her as she rests. "Please...come back to me." A tear escapes my eye, but I recover by quickly wiping it. A take a seat in my chair again, still gripping on to her hand gently but tightly.
