Riley's P.O.V.
"Be patient baby." he whispers in my ear as his hands press gently against my hips, guiding me to where the date supposedly is. This stupid bandana he insisted puting over my eyes has resrtricted me from my sight. His hot breath blowing against my ear, mixed with the simple touches of affection that he gives me is enough to send me into a state of euphoria. Looking past the affect he has on me, I am able to get a sense of where we might be.
I can feel the rocks crush underneath my feet, and the smell of nature invades my nose. Are we at the beach? I listen contently for a sound of waves crashing against the shore, but my question is answered when the sound doesn't come. "You are getting awfully quiet." Kayden voices, distracting me from my train of thought.
I continue my vow of silence until we come to a sudden stop, "Okay I give up!" I admit, sighing in defeat. He chuckles softly and kisses my cheek.
"This whole time you were still trying to figure out where I am taking you?" he asks. I nod my head while looking down at my feet, a little embarrassed. "I told you, you were never going to guess where we are, but with your stubbornness I should have known you wouldn't give up." A slight grin forms on my lips as I cross my arms over my chest, suddenly I hear a soft grunt emanate from Kayden.
"A-are you okay?" I ask him, not sure about what just happened. I hear him clear his throat, then his footsteps march around to the back of me to untie this torturous piece of cloth. I feel his breath against my ear once again as he counts from 1 to 3 before removing the bandana from my eyes.
When I look around, realisation hits me. We're at a lake, but not just any lake, we are at THE lake. The lake that contains half of my childhood memories, the lake that holds laughter, happiness, sadness, fun, and so much more. This is the lake we grew up at, we used to always come down here during the summertime. We would play until the sun went down, and then we would relax by the fire, while dad and Uncle Tanner argued over who made the best handburgers. It's been awhile since we've been back here, I've missed this place so much.
The moonlight reflecting off of the lake is absolutely breath taking, I will always remember this moment, right here with him. I look over at Kayden who is standing next to me, he has a grin on his face and his hands tucked nervously in his pockets. "S-so...you like it?" he asks nervously. I giggle and nod my head as I hear a sigh of relief escape his mouth. He moves closer to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me to him tightly. "Well I'm just getting started princess." he kisses my nose and releases me from his hold to run over to the car. What is he doing? Curiously, I begin to walk over there. "Nope! You stay right there!"
I throw my arms up in the air as if I am being arrested by the toughest cop in town, "Okay! Busted!" I joke. He laughs along with me while carrying a blanket and a bag. He lays out the blanket and begins pulling things out of the bag. So far there is a candle, some paper plates and some....oh my god. "You didn't!" I yelp. He nods cheekily while placing my all time favorite dish out on the blanket. I sit down next to him and dive in to the gooiest, most decidant, delicious grilled cheese sandwhich I have ever tasted.
"Well? How is it?" he asks while staring at me intently. I close my eyes to savor the flavor of the different cheeses he used. His grilled cheeses are absolutely amazing.
"Perfect." I say through the food in my mouth. He laughs as he takes a bite into his sandwhich as well.
"Mmmm...agreed." he smiles at me. I occasionally glance over at him, enjoying the way he never takes his eyes off of me. I don't even think he realises he's staring at me, but I adore it so much, I will never call him out on it.
"Maybe one day you could teach me how to make this, to die for, sandwhich?" I suggest.
He looks at me with a sarcastic expression that says, are you serious? "Baby, you somehow manage to burn water." He bursts out laughing and wipes his eyes pretending to be crying. I try to keep my best pouty face on while trying to control my laughter as well. I cross my arms over my chest and stick my bottom lip out while looking up at Kayden. Suddenly the laughter stops, I stare at him suspiciously, then follow his gaze to...my chest?
"Kayden!!" I shout in laughter while playfully swatting his arm. He looks at me confused but then realises that he was caught, without hesitation he gently lays me back on the soft cushion of the blanket. His hand grips my right hip while his other hand softly combs back the hair away from my face, I watch silently as he gazes down at me.
His fingers come up to stroke my right cheek, his simple touch gives me shivers all throughout my body. "So..." he breathes as he traces my jawline with his finger. "Beautiful." he finishes while the pad of his thumb gently glides across my bottom lip. The need for his lips against mine grows stronger and stronger by the second. I begin to lift my head up in hopes of fullfilling this tortorous need, "Don't move." he whispers. I'm not sure what he is doing but I obey his request and rest my head back against the pillows. "I just want to look at you. Just for a moment, please."
My heart swells at his beautiful, adoring words. Moments pass and his eyes still continue to wander over my face, my hair, my body. I giggle when he points out random things like the freckle just above my left collarbone. My heart speeds up when his gaze follows back to my lips. "So soft..." he whispers against them. I feel him sedatedly press his lips to mine while his hand slides under my lower back, lifting me slightly off the ground and closer to his body.
My hand reaches up to touch his face when suddenly I feel a sudden emptiness. I open my eyes to find that there is no Kayden laying above me. I sit up and look around, finally I spot him. He's racing towards the lake, his chest completely bare, with just his boxers on. I giggle while I jump to my feet, excitement filling my body. I sprint towards him only to come to a sudden holt, I look down at the water that is splashing against the rocks. I can't go in there, I don't even have a bathingsuit!
"C'mon Riley!" I hear Kayden shout from the water. I look at him and shake my head.
"Can't! No bathingsuit!" I shout back, shrugging my shoulders.
I hear his abnoxious chuckle emanate throught the whole lake, "Babe, it's just us. You'll be fine." he says after swimming close enough to me so we don't have to yell anymore. I huff, still only allowing the water to hit my toes. A few minutes of total contemplation go by and someway, some-fricken-how, I managed to talk my self into going in with just my...undergarments.
"Don't look okay?" I practically beg Kayden. He laughs uncontrollably at me, how is this even funny? "I mean it Kayden!" that only forced him to laugh even harder. I grunt, and wait until he is completely turned away before I start undressing. I feel myself getting colder and colder with each piece of clothing I take off. I wonder if the water is colder? I find myself backtracking due to the fact that I absolutely do not want to freeze to death!
I tip toe towards the lake and dip my toe in the water, expecting it to be cold as ice, surprisingly it's quite doable. Excitement grows inside me as I get closer and closer to Kayden. I take a deep breath, calming my nerves. Okay...here we go.
