Finding Him

"What?" I say pulling out one of my ear buds.

"I said don't forget to call me when you get done with school." My mom yelled back closing the door behind her.

Once she left i layed on the couch. It was just my mom and me. I didn't have any brothers or sisters, or even a dad.

My mom and i moved out to NJ to look for a new life. It was my first day of 9th grade, with no friends, and no family to depend on.

I got my backpack, and closed and locked the door behind me.

Im one of those people that sit in the corner of there head, and think, and worry for hours. You could say one word, and i would come up with all these things that where wrong in the world, and you could only just sit there and think about it.

I listen to music a lot. Mostly rap, from the 1990's and early 2000's. If you ever see me i normally always have ear buds in listening to the same 10 songs on repeat over and over again.

I was then thinking about music, while walking to school.

Someone then tapped my shoulder.

I looked behind and saw this beyond gorgeous guy. He had nice soft brown eyes, and straight brown hair. He looked like he could have been in a magazine cover for something.

He waved his hand, because he had said something.

"I'm sorry, what?" i asked pulling out my ear bud really embarrassed.

"Are you new?" he chuckles.

"Umm, yeah." i say.

"Oh cool. My name is Grayson." he says.

His voice sounded like heaven.

"Whats yours?" he asked impatiently.

"Oh im so sorry. My name is Skyler." i choke out.

"Well Skyler." he says. "You get distracted very easily."

"Tell me about it," i whisper to myself.

I think he heard me, because he chuckled a little bit.

"Do you know anyone here?" he asks.

"Nope, we moved here like 2 weeks ago." i said.

"Oh thats cool" he replied. "What grade are you in?"

"9th" i quickly say. I really really hope hes in my grade, i think to myself.

"Oh cool! Im in 10th grade, but im kinda dumb" he says.

I just chuckle as we walk up the school steps.
