We stand up and my eyes dart around the room as my friends also stand. I grip Archer's hand tightly and walk forward. He doesn't look scared at all and I physically relax a little.
"Ok now, follow him outside." The man orders.
The suited man on the left walks out the double doors and into an alley and we all follow. The next thing I hear are gunshots and ear piercing screams. I shut my eyes tight and grip his hand tighter.
"Why are we here?" Ellie asks, crossing her arms over her chest.
My eyes widen as the man walks up to her.
"Ellie, our relationship was sweet but short. You had no idea that I was torturing your best friend."
Her arms fall and Dylan takes off his mask.
"Surprise babygirl."
She looks over at me and mouths 'I'm sorry'. My heart aches. How would she know? It's not her fault. Daniel inches closer to her and heart starts racing as I spot the small hand gun wrapped by Dylan's fingers. I look up and his eyes meet mine. Absolutely no emotion shows within them and I look down quickly as he walks over to me.
"I never liked you. I don't know why but a part of me always wanted you to feel pain. If it wasn't for Arched I would've r-"
I close my eyes tight.
"If you finish you're sentence, I swear you won't be alive for another second." Archer sneers.
His voice is low and steady. I shiver at his words and Dylan chuckles, holding up his gun.
"Actually, YOU won't be alive for another second."
I stiffen as he points it at Archer's head.
"Please don't." I beg quietly feeling a tear escape my eye.
"I can't anyways, we need him."
I look up at Archer and his eyes are directed towards Dustin whose panting. He grips his chest as his knees give out and I realize what's happening. He's having a panic attack. Dylan chuckles and walks over to him, kicking Dustin's hunched over figure in the stomach. I scream as he lifts up his gun.
"Why are you doing this?" I ask all of a sudden.
Dylan looks at me and smiles and the crack of his gunshot echoes through the sky.
I slowly turn my head back down and see Dustin's lifeless body on the hard concrete. Just hours ago, he was living a happy life, probably trying to get a job and he had family members who cared about him. Now that's all gone. A quiet sob leaves my mouth. How can someone be so cruel? Archer wraps his arms around me as tears roll down my face. Are we going to live?
"Okay, time for the fun part." The leader of the three says as he walks to the alley.
He pulls off his mask and of course, it's Luke.
Ellie whimpers as he comes closer to us.
"Dylan, get him." Luke orders.
Dylan goes into the dumpster and pulls out a sack the size of a human body.
"This is the leader of the gang. Now all we want you to do is kill him. Then we let all of your friends go."
I watch as the body bag wiggles and muffled screams come from inside.
"Why can't you do it?" Archer asks.
"You and me both know that to be officially out of the gang, you have to kill the leader yourself. I would love to kill him but, why not have fun and watch you do it."
I shake my head. Why is he doing this. Archer looks at me and I look away. This isn't up to me, it's up to him.
"Olivia, I haven't ever killed anyone before," He whispers, "just know that I have to do this. There's no way out."
I nod slightly.
Archer pulls the gun out of his pocket and I step away. He aims it at the bag and pulls the trigger back releasing a loud boom followed by a strangled scream.
"Nice job." Luke compliments.
Archer lowers his head in shame and I bite my lip. Wait. After he kills the leader, they kill him.
"Archer watch out!" I yell.
His head shoots up and Daniel takes out a gun as well. It's like everything goes in slow motion. The first gunshot is heard and I run and jump on Ellie as we tumble to the ground. My face skids along the concrete and my arm is also scrapped along with it. Ellie and I crawl to behind the dumpster and wrap our arms around each other. Then the gunshots stop. I hesitantly stand up as I hear police sirens in the distance. Three bodies lay limp on the ground and the fourth person is running for their life. I walk over and my heart stops as I see Archer's pale face and blood oozing out of his chest. Everything is numb and the sirens come closer. I kneel down and take off his shirt to wrap it around his bullet wound. His pulse is thumping weakly and I let out a shaky breath.
"Help!" I scream, terror dripping from my voice.
"I love you too..." I whisper to him watching his eyes close as he loses consciousness.
The police come running out of their cars and to where the shootout occurred. They take Daniel and Archer on stretchers into the ambulance and me and Ellie into the police car. The whole car ride is silent and he pass the hospital. We pull into the police station and get out to follow them into a room. Ellie waits outside as I get pulled into a small room to be questioned. My chest tightens and the numbness wears off.
"Ok mam, first of all, are you okay?" The police officer asks.
And that's when I lost it. I start to sob loudly wrapping my arms around myself. The tears keep coming and my heart starts to ache more and more. My boyfriend, the love of my life. Might die tonight.
