Ch. Thirty Nine.

Normani Kordei Hamilton. (Soon to be Hansen)

"Isn't it bad luck for you and Dinah to see each other the night before the wedding?" Ally asks as she catches my eye through the mirror.

"Isn't it just before the wedding during the day?" Liv asks, confused.

"I don't know." Camila shrugs as she chews on some Pringles. "But somewhere, somebody's getting bad luck."

"Shut up." I push her slightly.

"Yeah." Ally agrees. "Don't ruin other people's days."

"I wasn't trying to ruin it." Mila defends herself and messes some of the chips on my floor.

"Girl you better clean that up." I say sternly. "I swept there this morning."

"Mani you know how to hold a broom?" Liv asks excitedly. "I'm so proud of you!"

"Shut up." I grumble.

"Ooh girl you look fine." Coco comments as she enters the room.

"I know." I flip my hair.

"Yeah, you should see your boo though." She replies, sitting down at a safe distance from Liv.
I may not have chosen either of them as maid of honour, but that definitely didn't kill their feud.

"All I'm saying is keep a close eye." Coco warns. "She is on fire."

"When is she not?" Lauren asks, causing me to have whiplash.

I swear I have never turned my head so quickly to glare at any one in my life.

"She's kidding." Ally chuckles nervously.

"Yeah. I'm into another type of blonde any way." Lauren shrugs. "So calm down Mani, keep your caramel and I'll keep my... I'm working on it."

Ally smiles gratefully and gives Lauren a small kiss on the cheek.

I check my appearance once more before going out into the hallway to 'pee', but really to find Dinah.

I watch on, amused, as Milika and Andrea talk excitedly and Dinah is just sitting in the loveseat, with a lollipop in her mouth, her eyes focused on her phone.

I pull mine out and open messages.

Me (20:34) : Well you look hot.

I watch her smirk as she sits up straighter.

DJ 👑 (20:34) : Stop creeping, I'm bored. And I'm sure you look way hotter, so shut up.

Me (20:35) : I do look mighty fine 👀 but come to the bathroom with me real quick. We need to talk.

She reads the message and nods and then looks over at our moms. "I'm going to the bathroom." She announces.

The women don't even nod in her direction and continue chattering away. Dinah just huffs and rolls her eyes as she comes into the hallway.

I shoot her a smirk and she rolls her eyes playfully before pulling me closer by my waist and giving me a kiss on my lips.

"Wait." I stop her from going in for another.

"What?"

"You're going to ruin my lipstick."

"Now really isn't the time Mani." She huffs and gives me another short kiss. "Now give me a proper kiss before that entire room of Barbarians come out here to separate us."

I smile before pressing my lips against hers. She breathes through her nose as she pulls me closer, kissing me harder.

"Hey hey hey." We jump apart as we hear Camila's voice. I wipe my mouth as she approaches us. "I see you've found the bathroom." She says, glaring at Dinah, who innocently smiles back at her.
