"Hold up," I say as we pull up to the school parking lot, Stiles finally telling me everything that happened the night before. I wasn't home last night, since I was helping Allison research for anything involving flies, so I didn't get to hear the story until the ride to school today. "So that's why the power is out in town?"

"That's exactly why," Stiles nods, parking the Jeep as it rumbles underneath us. "It was like she absorbed all of the electricity...she didn't even seem to know what caused it either."

"Is she like us?" I ask, earning a look from Stiles. I didn't specify. "You know, like Lydia or Scott-"

"Pretty sure if I were to electrify Lydia that she wouldn't be standing," Stiles says, causing me to groan. That wasn't what I meant. "I know that she's not like Scott. I've never heard of a werewolf that could withstand 1.20 gigawatts of electricity."

My mind flashes back to the visions I saw of Kira that day in class, none of it still making sense. "On the first day of school, I saw something when Kira's name was first brought up. It was a fox or something. What if that has something to do with it?"

"I don't know, but I do know that we need to figure out what in the hell she is and what she's here for before she starts murdering people left and right. We don't need another Jennifer Blake," Stiles groans, grabbing his backpack from the back before getting out of the Jeep. I follow his actions as we walk up to the school, hearing the chatter of other students as they walked on by.

"Maybe she really doesn't know what she is, like you said a minute ago. Maybe she's harmless," I say, trying to be positive. I knew Stiles had a point, but that didn't mean we should avoid her at all costs.

Stiles pushes open the doors, the sound intensifying. "That girl absorbed all of the power in Beacon Hills. I don't think she's completely harmless."

I sigh. "Who do you think left that message in the chemistry room?"

"Hard to tell," Stiles stops at his locker, opening it to have a set of keys fall out. "My money is on the twins."

I furrow my eyebrows. "What?"

"I just don't like them," he narrows his eyes as he looks across the hall, finding them standing there at their lockers. I mean, I didn't trust the twins either, but I don't think they wanted to kill Kira.

Stiles bends over and picks up the set of keys, staring at them. "Is this yours?"

I look down at it, narrowing my eyes. "No, I only have a key to my truck and to the house...and Allison's, but don't tell anyone that."

He winks at me. "Noted. Maybe it's Scott's key...I don't know. It's not mine."

Stiles shoves the key into his pocket as he grabs his text book, shutting the locker and turning to walk down the hall. Just as he started walking, I see Jade come up to me out of the corner of my eye, looking nervous about something. Stiles was already walking away as Jade stopped me, leaving only me and her, and the noisy students in the hall.

"Why do you look so freaked out?" I ask, furrowing my eyerbrows.

Jade shakes her head. "I saw something last night, and I don't know what to do. I think I'm losing my mind-"

"Hey, what happened?" I ask again, more concerned. It was weird to see Jade spooked.

She runs her fingers through her hair. "I was reading back at home on the couch last night when the lights went out. I didn't think much of it, so I just grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight on it and kept reading. Then I just...I don't know how to describe it. These things...they came out of the dark, Corey."
