"Oh, Emma. You know how you live me and would do anything for me?"
"Close to anything. What do you want?"
"Um, well I'm going on a date tonight to dinner and I need your help on what to wear."
"Who's the date with?" Emma asked as she sifted through my wardrobe.
"A guy I met at this music shop I went to yesterday. Which reminds me, did you talk to James?"
"Not yet. So, wear this."
She handed me a black long sleeved dress with a white collar that went down to my knees, almost see-through black tights, and black flats.
"It's very black."
"Yeah, who cares? Put it on."
"Once you leave." Emma exits my room and I changed into the clothes Emma had chosen. I called out for Emma to enter my room again.
"Okay, that looks good. Now take it off and meet me in the bathroom. I need to do your makeup."
Meeting Emma in the bathroom, she sat me down on the toilet.
"Alright, concealer, foundation, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss should complete the look."
"That sounds like a lot of makeup for a simple date."
"No date is simple!" 10 minutes later Emma exclaimed, "Done."
"Thanks. Do I get changed now?"
"Well, what time are you meeting him?"
"Um...I think he said 7 o'clock-ish. Yeah, let's go with 7 o'clock."
"Okay, half an hour left. Yes, get changed."
In my room I pulled my clothes on again. I then plugged my phone into my speakers and blasted Nirvana loudly. I jumped around for 10 minutes to get myself in the date mood.
I grabbed my phone and wallet and exited my room. "Alright Emma, I'm leaving now. Bye!"

I had gotten the Tube to King's Cross station and walked the rest of the way to this little restaurant called Urban Spoon. I entered and saw Ben sitting in a corner with some daisies tied with a bow. I mentally blushed and walked up to him.
"Hi."
"Oh, you're here. How are you? These are for you." Ben said in a rush, words tumbling out of him mouth.
"Yes, I'm here. I'm well, how are you? Thank you, they're lovely."
"Please sit. How was your day?"
"Um...I didn't do much. Just laid around, on the internet. As usual. What about you?"
"Worked at the store and then got really crap advice about girls from my older brother."
"How old is he?"
"20." Okay, I guess a 19 year old wasn't too young.
"How old does that make you?"
"I'm turning 18 next month." I flipped shit, mentally.
"17. Oh fuck, I can't do this, sorry. I mean, you're 17. I'm 22, this wouldn't work, I'm sorry Ben. Too young. Way too young. That would be weird. You seem super nice and amazing but I seriously can't do this. Bye." I picked up my phone and wallet, and left the restaurant, ignoring Ben's cries.
Back at home I told Emma about the fail of a date. The rest of the night was spent talking about TV shows and eating chocolate.
