The Mistake

Chapter 4

Alice decided, the first person she would tell, was her mom.

She would be the hardest to tell, so she could just get it over with. Her mother was very understanding also. Alice was never very afraid of what her mother would say, because her mom was almost always supportive. She would be angry, but who wouldn't be?

Once Alice's mother came home, she walked in the kitchen, with a pregnancy test in her back pocket. Just in case her mom didn't believe her.

"Mom?" She asked as her mother was sitting at the table looking through mail. "Yeah Honey?" Alice sat down slowly. She had a plan. Had.

She broke down in tears and stiffled her cries to say "Mom. I'm really sorry. It was an accident. But mom. I'm pregnant." Alice said as she sobbed.

Her mother just kinda sat There. She put the mail down. Her face turned pale.

"I'll be right back." She said an left.

Alice broke down.

"She's really upset."
"What if she's leaving me?!"
"I'm such a disappointment!" Alice thought while she sobbed.

20 minutes later her mother came back with a pregnancy test.

"Mom I already have one" Alice said as she put the old one on the counter.

"I want you to take a new one." She said and handed her the box.

Alice looked at her mother. "Im sorry mom!" She said.

She nodded. "I know you are." She said and turned her daughter towards the bathroom.

Alice took the test and came back and they waited at the counter until the line/lines appeared.

Alice's mom grabbed the test and sighed. She nodded and tears started running down her face.

"Your gonna put it up for adoption right?" her mother said wiping her tears.

Alice was suprised by the question. Alice didn't know. She wouldn't know until a long time.

"Mom I don't kno-" She began to speak but her Mom cut her off.

"What do you mean you don't know?!?!" She said. Alice shrugged and was shaken up already. The last thing she needed was her mom yelling at her. Her Mom turned around "I'm gonna start calling relatives." She said as she left the room.

Alice didn't know what to do. Her mom wanted her to give away the baby. She didn't even know it yet. How Could she know that she didn't want it. How could She ever make a mistake like this.
