Joanna and Sophie where going to be gone for a day and a half. They were heading to the city for two reasons. They wanted to check on the house and the bank had called. Joanna had papers that needed her signature. Joanna left chores for Sevin and Logan to keep them occupied in the morning and leaving the afternoon for themselves. Sevin didn't mind cleaning so those where his tasks while Logan had the more handy tasks moving things around and later watering the legumes.

As Sevin took his last bite of his cheese burger, he told his brother he was going to meet up with friends so he didn't have to babysit him. Not like he would, but this way Logan wouldn't be over Sevin's shoulders, prying into everything he was doing. Every step Sevin took he felt like someone or something was watching him. Watching him like pray being hunted down by its predator.

Sevin entered the cottage with good intentions thanks to Cory. Sevin called out but no one answered. Sevin sighed, he really didn't want to go back home. "Might as well explore," he said to himself. Strolling around in the cottage, Sevin entered a new room he hadn't seen before and halted, realizing the far wall was actually the cliff face. He spotted an area along the back wall what was dim and approached with curiosity.

An actual door Sevin thought as he spotted the outline on the rock face, then realized it had no handles. Inspecting the door further, he discovered a faded sigil was marked on the door. It was same symbol that he had seen on the door of the conference room. It had an oval shape almost like an eye with a rhombus, and a colored-in circle placed inside, all of that was framed by a circle with vein like strips projecting out to the ends of the door. Sevin slowly placed his right hand over the marking hoping it would activate or something. Suddenly, Sevin shrieked in pain and retracted his hand from the door. Both the sigil and the door were drenched in crimson red blood. After a moment the door opened and Sevin ran in while applying pressure to his hand, trying to stop the bleeding.

The room beyond the door was filled with cardboard boxes. Sevin scanned the room, panic over whelming him momentarily until he spotted another door. Rushing through the second door, Sevin found himself standing in a tunnel that extended into darkness. Turning around, he headed back through several rooms until he reached what appeared to be the living room. A medical kit was sitting on a black sofa. Sevin ran toward it, relieve lifting his spirit. Opening the bag he grabbed the antibacterial and untwisted the cap. The clear liquid stung and Sevin hissed at the pain before grabbing an ace-bandage and wrapping his hand.

"What was I thinking," Sevin said aloud as he paced around the room. "No one answered when I called, so why did I go looking for trouble?" As they say curiosity killed the cat. A good thing they have nine lives. Sevin didn't know what to do; he didn't even know why he wanted to enter so badly. Teron was angry at him and Calvin didn't like Sevin anywhere near him or his sister.

After pacing back and forth carefully, Sevin spotted a green layer of an object covered by first aid kit. Lifting the kit by its straps, he placed it on the gray tinged tiles. A brown book with green edging, lay on the black sofa with ancient lettering written on it. Studying the words carefully and not being able to read them got Sevin curious. As time flew by Sevin was looking through what seemed to be a spell book; more words Sevin didn't understand filled up all the pages of the book.

A loud noise filled the room startling Sevin. He stood up with the book closed in his left hand that hung near his thigh. In came Calvin with Kristine to his left and Teron to his right, with puzzled faces and weapons beside them. Kristine wore dark green skinny jeans with a couple mud splotches and a cotton lavender colored shirt. A strap and quiver on her left shoulder held two dozen arrows and a black metallic bow was in her right hand. Calvin had on a light red short-sleeve shirt covered in sweat and dirt, and blue jeans with dirt smudges. A silver metallic sword clung to a scabbard at his waist. Teron wore a blue short-sleeve shirt covered with sweat and black stains, blue jeans covered in mud stains, and strapped behind his back a spear, with a trident-like head that had three pointy ends, as well as a macheet in his right hand.
