A.N: Usually I wouldn't write notes at the beginning so I apologise for this! But I just wanted to say that there is going to be a lot of speech as there is no action so I apologise for that! And whilst I'm here, I'll admit that I need practice writing action scenes so I'll try my best! Hope you enjoy the chapter!
There was tension in the air so heavy you could cut through it with a butcher's knife. Yes, it was that thick. Naruto was glaring at Sai with annoyance whilst Sakura was just watching the two with wide eyes. I was currently walking at the back of the group with observant eyes. Finally, Sai talks when Naruto's stare gets considerably heavier. "What is it?" He asks as he turns his head towards Naruto. When no one answers, he carries on, "Please don't stare at me like that..." He then opens his previously closed eyes, "I'll pound you." Oh, very cheeky, Sai. I quickly hid a blush. Thank God I'm at the back.
Naruto, quite obviously gets more aggravated and he clenches his fist, saying, "Hey! You tick me off with everything you say!"
"I don't really mean it." Sai said, nonchalantly. Oh yes you did, Sai. Don't be afraid to bring out your inner homosexual side. Everyone is bisexual, but they just don't embrace it. I shake my head solemnly.
"You liar!" Naruto screams as he points an accusing finger towards the black haired man.
"I'm just trying to portray myself like that kind of character." Sai replies, ignoring Naruto's outburst.
Sakura finally speaks for the first time in a while, "Portray yourself...?" She asks Sai, confused with the meaning behind his words. It's quite obvious that he doesn't know how to act human. He's been trained to remove all emotion. Even I could see that.
Naruto takes into account of what he said, "Then you do mean it!" He, once again, shouted. Despite his accusation, Sai continues on his journey. This is supposed to be an important mission, right? Then why isn't everyone acting serious? "You won't do at all!" Naruto screams as Sai walks past him.
However, after Naruto's bold statement, Sai stops and looks back to Naruto, turning his body to face him. Captain Yamato also does the same. Movement stilled and gazes locked. There was a silent standoff occurring between Sai and Naruto once again. All was still, until...
"You really piss me off-dattebayo!" Naruto says in a tight gripped voice.
Captain Yamato finally intervenes, "Hey! Hey! Don't act like that in front of your captain, Naruto." He says. All eyes turn to him. "I'm sure Kakashi-san taught you that trust and teamwork are most important to a team." He pauses. "You were on the same team as the great Kakashi. What's your problem?"
Naruto points an accusing finger at Naruto, which he seems to enjoy doing as it seems to be an action that he has done numerous times on this travelling. "He's not a member of Team Kakashi!" Naruto shouted. Neither am I, Naruto, yet you and I seem to get along well enough. However, I decided not to speak out as Naruto continues speaking. "The other member of our Team Kakashi is Sasuke!"
"Sorry." I decided to speak out, finally, "It seems I am unwelcome as well. Sorry for my intrusion." I bow towards them. Eyes turned towards me but Naruto continues speaking, too angry to hear.
"This guy was just chosen to cover the loss of Sasuke. I don't acknowledge him as a team member!" Naruto screams.
However, Sai does his creepy eye smile whilst placing his right hand on his hip, leaning on his right leg. "Well... That's actually easier for me." Why is everyone so dramatic? "He betrayed the Leaf and ran off to serve Orochimaru." Why are Naruto and Sakura trying to bring back someone who clearly doesn't want to return? And especially to a guy like Orochimaru. I had at least heard of him. "I don't want to be lumped together with a cockroach along the same lines as Orochimaru." As Sai continues speaking, Naruto seemed to continuously get angrier and angrier, filling to the brim with hatred.
