You'd think after meeting so many people at fancy dinners I wouldn't be nervous for my first date. Well, you are fucking wrong. I have never been so nervous in my entire life. There were so many butterflies fluttering in my stomach, I think I might actually throw up.

I looked at myself up and down in the mirror. Were the dark jeans and light blue button up good enough? Do I need to go nicer or more casual?

I glanced at the clock and noticed I didn't have time to change my clothes. I glanced back at the mirror one more time, running my hand through my hair and taking a deep breath. I could do this.

The car ride to Levi's house seemed like it went by in a flash. Gripping the steering wheel helped calm me down a little but not enough to clam my heart rate before getting out and walking towards his door.

I knocked and waited, clasping my hands together to try and stop their shaking.

When Levi opened the door, I didn't have to worry about the pounding of my heart because it stopped. Levi looked amazing with his hair combed back, the sleeves of his white button up rolled to his elbows, and his tan pants hugging his legs beautifully.

I was surprised I was able to manage quietly saying, "Hey."

"Hey. You ready to go?" He asked, stepping onto the porch and shutting the door behind him.

"Yeah," I said breathlessly.

He smiled brightly at me and walked in front of me to my car. As he was going to open the door, I scrambled over to his door, almost tripping and falling on my face. I smiled at him, a blush lighting up my face as he got into the car smiling brightly.

I shut his door and carefully walked around to the driver's side, careful not to embarrass myself again.

During the drive, I was able to calm down a little, but not much.

At one point in time, I realized my right hand was shaking while sitting on the middle console. Before I could grab the steering wheel to hide it, Levi laced his fingers through mine.

I glanced over at him before looking back at the road. He was smiling kindly at me, which made my cheeks light up.

"You're nervous," He stated.

I nodded, not looking at him. "This is like, my first date. Ever. I don't want to mess it up." My voice shook a little as I talked in the beginning but I managed to steady it.

"You're not going to, Jay. Just be yourself and try to have fun. It will be great." He smiled.

I took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay."

A minute later, I pulled into the restaurant parking lot and parked.

"W-Wait. We're going here?" Levi asked before I could get out.

"Yeah. Is there a problem?" I asked nervously.

"It's just really expensive. I-I'm not sure I can afford it." He said, not meeting my eyes.

I looked up at the fancy Italian restaurant then back to Levi. "Don't worry about that. I have money. Plus, I'm paying since I asked you out."

"I-I can't let you pay for me." He said.

"Levi, if you want to bring me on a date, I promise, I'll let you pay but please. I want to do this." I said.

He looked at me and sighed. "Fine. I get the next date." He said, getting out of the car. I smiled and followed his example. When we met around the front of the car, we interlocked our fingers and walked in, hand in hand.
