Jay's POV

"I'm falling for him." I said quietly, staring dazedly at the table in front of me.

Throughout my near month here, I made a total of four friends, not including Levi's family, however my closest friend was my co-worker, Carver. We have only been working together for two weeks but we've grown fairly close.

Carver was a fairly large man. He was about 6'5" and 200 pounds of pure muscle. His sharp, dark brown eyes and close cropped black hair added to the tough guy look, and the deep, chilling voice topped it all off. However, underneath the rough exterior, he was one of the coolest guys I know. He's highly protective of his family and friends and is very easy to talk to.

During breaks, Carver and I will hang out in the break room together and talk. Usually, we find our way back to our significant others and, in Carter's case, children.

"You're just now realizing this?" He asked, looking genuinely confused.

"Yeah?" I said, looking up at him, confusion painting over my features as well.

"Dude, seriously? You've been falling for the guy since you first met him. You really didn't notice?" He asked.

"No." I said, blushing and looking down at my sandwich. "I don't know a lot about dating."

"Yeah, why is that?" Carver asked. "I mean, you're young, attractive for a dude. How come it seems like he is your first boyfriend?"

"Because he is," I mumbled, just loud enough for Carver to hear. "I wasn't really allowed to date back at home. My family didn't accept me when I came out, forbid me from dating. Then they set me up with this girl before I got out of there."

"Oh," He said solemnly. "Sounds lonely."

"It was," I murmured.

After that, Carver quickly changed the subject to happier topics and for that I was thankful. From then on, we talked about Carver's daughter's birthday coming up in a few weeks until our lunch break was over.

However, as I worked, I couldn't get what I left behind off of my mind for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to go back. I just know that my relationship with Levi is getting serious, at least for me it is, and soon, really soon, I am going to need to tell him the truth about my past. But recently, I had been feeling like I was six years old and afraid of the dark. I knew my fears were probably a little irrational. I didn't think Levi would care much about my past and he may be a little angry about not telling him but the big thing I was scared of telling him about was telling him that my parents had me involved in an arranged engagement. I didn't know how to explain to him what happened to get him to understand it and I cared too much about him and Spencer and Riley to leave now.

Despite all of this, I promised myself that next time I saw him I would tell him everything.

"Day!" Spencer yells, teetering at me from behind Riley. "Hi, Day!"

"Hey, Spence," I said, smiling brightly and crouching down in the doorway. I held out my arms for Spencer to run into. When he hit me, I wrapped my arms around him and lifted him up. "Oh! I missed you. How are you, buddy?"

"I good. You eat? Da make getti." He said staring me right in the eyes.

"Yeah, I'm going to eat. I'm hungry." I responded, shutting the door and carrying Spencer down the hall toward Riley.

"Yay!" Spencer cheered as I turned to Riley before passing him.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked as we walked side by side down the hallway to the kitchen.
