"Clarissa we need to talk." I say.
If you told me that the hot blonde I flirted with on my first day looked like this I would've never believed you.
Her typical cliche blonde hair was knotty and in a nest caging her head. Her eyes had huge bags underneath and she had the classic staying up late red eye look.
"I know." She whispers softly.
"So what's going to happen?" I ask.
"Calum I'm scared," she whispers again. I rub my knuckles.
"Me too." I say. I feel my eyes start to be on the brink of tears.
I can't be a father.
I am not responsible.
I can't even make my own bed.
I haven't lived my life yet.
"Um, Calum?" The barista yells. I get up from our little table in the corner of the Starbucks and get my beverage.
As soon as I sit down she has her arms embraced around me.
"Why did you do that to me?" She asks me.
I let a tear slide but I am quick to wipe it.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." I say over and over again into her unruly hair.
"What should we do?" She asks.
"Have you thought about adoption?" I ask.
"Every night." She says bitterly.
I purse my lips.
"And," I say.
"I don't want to do that to an unborn kid."
I grit my teeth.
"So what would you rather do?" I ask.
"I think we should be parents to it."
I let the words sink in.
Cia.
No Calum.
She's not meant for you.
It's time to face the people who your going to need in your life.
"Clarissa I think we should too."
She gives me a bitter smile and sips her Passion Fruit tea.
