Josh's POV
"Hey Liv where's Maddie?" I asked trying to catch up to her in the halls.

Liv slowed down so I could catch up. "She stayed at home. I tried to convince her to come, but she was to overwhelmed."

"Okay, well at least she isn't with Diggie."

Liv bit her lip nervously. "Yah, about that... Diggie went to visit her."

"What?!" I exclaimed stopping in the middle of the hall.

"Sorry..." Liv said pulling me to the side of the hallway.

"This isn't fair. Why is this guy aloud to keep leaving and coming back?" I complained. "Like is his favourite hobby breaking people's hearts?" Liv's eyes widened and she started to chew a strand of her hair in a panic.

"Actually I prefer shooting hoops over breaking hearts." Diggie said behind me with his arms crossed.

"How does he keep doing this?" I asked Liv.

Liv shrugged her shoulders. "Anyways, I have to go to my locker. Okay bye." Liv then ran off.

"Listen. Maddie and I were on a break. I understand between our break you decided to care for her, but I'm back and I am her boyfriend."

"Wait what?" I'm so confussed. He sounded like he was really being nice, then he tells me to back off? I don't think so, I've worked too hard to get Maddie and I together, and I'm not giving up that easy.  "Sorry, I just don't understand why you get to choose who she dates."

"Valid point." Diggie paused to think of a comprise. "Okay, how about this. You and I have a man olymipics."

"A man olymipics?"

"When Maddie comes to school, we try are best to grab her attention. Then we sees who deserves her love and the loser leaves her." Diggie put his hands on hips. "Deal?"

"I don't know about this..." I said. "Alright deal."

"Good 'cause here she comes, I convinced her to come." Diggie smiled bitterly. "Hey Rooney."

"Hey Diggie.... Josh." Maddie forced a smile onto her face.

"Hey Maddie." I winked. Lady's man, right here folks.

"I have to go to class, but it was nice talking to you guys." Maddie said adjusting the books in her arms.

I put out my arms. "Those look heavy, let me carry them for you."

Maddie put the books into my arms. "Thanks..." Maddie and I started to walk to her next class.

Diggie got frusterated and replied with "Maddie your hand looks heavy let me hold it for you." Diggie grabbed her hand and Maddie faked a giggle.

I shot Diggie a dirty look.

"What's going on here?" Maddie said crossing her arms angrily.

"Just some friendly competition with my good pal Josh." Diggie smirked.

"Competition? Your using me as a trophy?" Maddie looks more and more upset as the words poured out of her mouth. "I can't believe you guys."

"Maddie, I can explain." I said after she grabbed her books out of my arms and took her hand back from Diggie.

"No need. I'm out of here." Maddie stormed out of the school. Before she left she turned around and said "Oh and Diggie I don't appreciate you using yourself as bait to lure me over to help you with your man-off!"

Maybe this wasn't a good idea, but I couldn't see Diggie taking Maddie away from me.
