The warm water of the shower beats onto my skin as I try to relax my tense muscles from training all day. Left punch, right punch, duck, and kick. Left punch, right punch, duck, and kick. Fighting techniques float around in my head as I wash the shampoo out of my long brown hair that is now black from the wetness of the shower. Block, evade, and right front kick. Block, evade, and left front kick. The conditioner washes out of my hair as I run my fingers through the clinging wet strands. I close my eyes and take a deep breath in as the water continues to massage my back, I then slowly let the breath out as I then open my eyes.
After the nice warm shower, I climb into my bunk and pull the thin grey blanket up to my neck. I turn onto my left side and face Alex as she lies in the bed to the left of mine.
"How's the family?" I ask as she turns to face me with her blue eyes shining in the light of the lamp between us.
"Great haha, we're almost always busy," she says with a slight laugh. "How are you and your dad doing?"
"We're doing well, we'll have a mission here and there but besides that he's always helping me train,"I say as others around us begin stiffly crawling into their beds.
"Have you...found those people that-you know,"she struggles to ask but I get the idea.
"Yeah, Dad tracked them for about 3 months and then he got them when the time was right," I say as I turn my gaze to the floor and then add quietly "we are still tracking down some Hydra camps."
"Hmm,"she replies as she then lies on her back, facing the ceiling, "we've been stopping some ambushes here and there. Dad takes me on missions that involve the ambushes and stuff like that, Mom takes me on a few spy missions here and there."
I laugh slightly and then respond "sounds like you've been busy."
"Haha yep," she replies with a smile and then adds with a slight glum tone "we're always busy."
"Maybe you could ask your parents for a vacation," I joke.
"Yeah, maybe we could go to the beach or the mountains,"she jokes back as we pretend to be normal.
"That would be nice,"I reply with a soft smile.
"Lights out everyone!" Agent Reinés loudly instructs us from the entrance of the barracks. The sound of buttons being pushed fills the room as lights go out slowly. I reach over and follow her order.
Lying back in bed, I then whisper "goodnight Alex."
  "Goodnight Harley."

   The next morning...
Pulling on the dark pants and white shirt, that S.H.I.E.L.D has provided everyone with, I then pull on and tie up my dark combat boots. I smooth my hair back into a sleek ponytail as others are still fixing their uniforms.
"What time is it?" Alex asks me as she ties the loose strings on her combat boots.
I turn my gaze to the clock above the entrance doors and reply "7 A.M."
She groans and throws her head back "it's too early."
I laugh slightly and then stand up to begin stretching. Widening my feet, shoulder length apart, I then bend over and stretch my arms towards the end of the room as I begin feeling the burning sensation spread throughout my legs.
"Lookin' good Harley,"a voice purrs as someone approaches Alex and I, Victor.
"Quit being a creep,"I say as I continue doing different stretches and then Alex joins me.
"So rude," he adds as he stands at the end of my bunk facing the entrance doors.
Suddenly the doors open as Alex and I stand up and in walks Agent Reinés. "Good morning recruits, you have until 9 A.M. to finish breakfast, however I recommend that you finish at 08:30. We will be meeting up in the hangar that you all arrived in yesterday, Hangar 3. Training starts at 0900, those who show up late know the punishment." She then walks out and leaves as some of the other recruits begin making their way to the cafeteria.
"Come on guys," Alex says as she begins making her way towards the doors.

   After breakfast, in Hangar 3...
We all jog around the room in uniform lines as we warm up our muscles while the early morning sun shines through the large windows.
After about 5 minutes of nonstop jogging Agent Reinés stops us and calls us towards the middle of the room where she stands. "Okay everyone listen up, today we will be rotating locations with the other groups. Right now, we have this hangar first. We will be testing your strength and endurance today," she pauses as she pulls a remote out of her pocket and presses a button. Suddenly the floor begins groaning and then it opens up on the far end of the hangar, a wall then rises up out of the floor to the ceiling. Then the ceiling opens up a few panels and long ropes drop down as they dangle from the roof. "You will be climbing for the next 2 hours."
My eyes gaze at the length of the ropes, just like Dad and I practiced. I got this, I tell myself.
