January
I close the door to my locker with my books cradled in my left arm. Just another day in "normal-ville". A sigh escapes my nostrils as I make my way towards my British Literature class with Allie by my side.
"How's the New Year going for you so far,"Allie asks once we take our seats.
"It's decent,I haven't had anything extraordinary happen but I haven't had anything bad happen,"I shrug my shoulders. "What about you?"
"It has been the same,I got to visit my mother and brother though."
"You never mentioned anything about having a brother,"I say as I raise an eyebrow.
She laughs slightly and says "he is four years older than me and is overprotective,"she then adds "and slightly annoying."
I smile and then ask "does he have a job?"
"Yes,he is a well established doctor in the United Kingdom. He works with my mother sometimes but mainly with,"and she gives me a knowing look as if trying to mentally tell me,shield.
"Wow,that's great,"I say and then my gaze drifts to the side as I get lost in the thoughts of having a sibling.
"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" She asks as she arranges her pens on her desk.
"No," I respond with a sigh and add "I wish I did. Something happened before my mother could have the next child." My gaze droops to my desk as I whisper "I try to tell myself that she wasn't expecting at the time."
Before Allie could respond to what I told her the bell to start class rang and our teacher walked in.
After lunch...
I walk back to the Art Room and quietly find my wooden board with my assignment taped onto it. After bringing it back to my seat along with all the supplies I need, I take a seat beside Alex and begin sketching out a field with the morning skyline.
"Nice," Alex comments while looking over at my project.
"Thanks,"I say with a light laugh. "What are you drawing for the assignment?"
"Apartment buildings, but with a 1940s style to them,"she replies while making light strokes with her pencil "it's for my dad."
"He'll love it,"I add with a small smile as I watch the sketch of an apartment building reveal itself on her paper.

Finally arriving back to the Avengers tower after a long day at school,I toss my backpack onto the floor and then throw myself onto my bed. Landing with a huff, I then lean my head to the right and look out the window. My thoughts scramble like the traffic below as I think of what homework I have to complete. Read a story for Lit. class and take notes, finish my calculus worksheet, and study up on my history notes. "Uggggg,"I groan loudly as I bury my face in my dark blue comforter.
Silence surrounds me as my thoughts drift back to my home in Georgia. I wonder what Dad is doing right now,I think to myself,he's probably training or something. A heavy sigh escapes my lips as I roll over and stare at the pale ceiling. I miss home.
Knock
Knock
My thoughts are interrupted by a knock on my door, quickly I sit up and say "come in," loudly.
My red haired friend appears in the doorway and says "Agent Hill wants us all to go to the meeting room in ten minutes."
"Okay,"I reply quietly and then add "thank you."
My gaze drifts to the floor as Madeline slowly retreats from the open doorway, then I hear her footsteps approaching me once again. She props herself against the wall with her arms crossed over her chest as her green eyes study me. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah,"I reply as I slowly stand up "I just miss home."
"I can't say much about that,Shield has always been my home," she replies with a slight laugh "well for the most part."
I roll my eyes jokingly and run a hand through my hair. A strange feeling spreads throughout my body as my mind tells me that something is not right. My eyebrows furrow together as I try to figure out what's going on.
"What is it?" Madeline asks now alert.
"Something doesn't feel right,"I reply as I quickly turn my gaze to look out my window.
"You need to get out,"she jokes "go on a date with Victor or something. I think you've been kept up in the tower too long."
I laugh gently and reply "yeah,I need to get out,"as I try brushing off the strange feeling growing in my chest. Following Madeline into the hallway, I then pull my door closed and pause in front of it as Maddie continues walking down the hall. I slightly shake my head no and tell myself,it's nothing...don't worry about it.
